I learn how to conduct reports using the Crystal Reports application where I learned to design data connection(s) and report layout in my database management courses. I learned how to select and link tables from a wide variety of data sources, including Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Oracle databases, Microsoft SQL Server databases, Microsoft Access databases, Business Objects Enterprise business views, and local file system information. I learned how to use fields from these tables and place on the report design surface, and also be used in custom formulas, using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax, which is then placed on the design surface.
During my database management courses, I used SQL Server 2008 to learn about accessing to different database servers, maintaining, manipulating, and extracting data from the database tables, as well as performing SQL script writing.
