Head doorman/bartender

Duties include setting up bars and restaurant for nightly service. Stocking beer and liquor, setting up trash cans, setting up tables for special events, and making sure the overall appearance of the restaurant is acceptable. During the course of the shift job responsibilities include checking IDs, changing kegs, miscellaneous cleaning, and security for the nightclub which takes up an entire city block. The end of the night is mostly cleaning, taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, and making sure the restaurant looks good for the next business day.

Wings ETC., Mishawaka, IN 02/2000 to 04/2011

Manager/server/bartender

Responsibilities as a manager were overall operations of the restaurant. Duties were mostly customer service, making sure the guest’s visit was as enjoyable as possible. Which included making sure the servers and the kitchen were prepared, helping servers and bartenders run food and serve drinks, expoing food, helping the kitchen if they fell behind, and checking on tables. At the end of the night responsibilities included the closing of the restaurant, counting the money to verify the safe was where it should be, checking the closing duties of the servers and the kitchen staff, and setting the alarm and locking up.

Garfield’s restaurant 01/1998 to 02/2000

Server shift leader/ bartender

Shift leader responsibilities included being in charge of the wait staff as well as having the section in the front of the restaurant. This entailed waiting on your tables and helping the other servers take care of theirs. It also included checking running side work to make sure everybody was doing their part. At the end of the night the shift leader was responsible for checking the servers to make sure all their side work was done and getting the managers approval.
