Worked with IBM India Pvt. Ltd. in Bharti Project since 4th January’10 to 16th Septem ber '13 as System Administrator, Media & Asset Coordinator.
Worked as a team member in IBM India Pvt. Ltd (FTH) as Backup Administrator & Media coordinator from 3rd January’08 to 31st December’09.

Project Name:- Bharti Central Data Centre
Project Detail: I worked in the Central Data Centre System Server Operations. The Data Center had more than 3500 servers as on date and they are increasing with the phenomenal growth of Bharti. Central DC team manages all the critical servers that are placed across India,Sri Lanka, Africa & Bangladesh.
Role: System Administrator, Media and Asset Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR LINUX:-
Maintain users and their permissions for Data center production servers.
Controlling the changes being done in production environment and ensuring that all the documents (Change Request/Release note) are in place before changes are done.
Good knowledge on monitoring and capable to attend the issues related CPU, memory and Network.
Installing RedHat on Servers and packages through RPM.
Implementing Linux OS level Security and Configuring RAID levels.
Installation and Configuring various servers and work stations such as DNS, MAIL SERVER, NFS, DHCP, APACHE (HTTPD), SQUID and SAMBA SERVER etc.
Creating Software and Hardware Raid and LVM (Logical Volume Manager) and trobleshooting.
Hands on experience in User administrator (Create new user, Modify Exit user and password related issue)
Monitoring Virtual memory, adding additional swap space as needed.
Schedule various regular, future queue tasks by using crontab & at.
MEDIA COORDINATOR :-
To maintain physical media Inventory for Central Data Centre in accordance to the PSM (Portable Media Storage) process.
To Co-ordinate with all the Bharti locations to get the PSM inventory done on a quarterly basis (Location-wise) .
Guiding as SME to locations for the process and best practices in order to have better control with 100% compliance on PSM process.
Doing offsite of the tapes and Keeping documents as an artifact for all the movements & transactions made for future audit and reference.
Updating e-TOC (Media Management Tool) for any & every movement taken place at our location and also ensuring that the same has been followed in all the bharti accounts.
Acting as a SPOC for assistance to all the bharti accounts whether related to the process or Media Management Tool.
ASSET COORDINATOR :-
Keeping inventories and track of all the assets i.e. servers, storages, network equipments etc. whether online or in stock.
Receiving of all the assets & issuing the same to Project owners.
Continuous follow-up with the installation and Facility Team. Ensuring the proper installation and compliance of procedure as per the DC norms.
Maintaining all the records of Server Room’s hardware. These inventories include complete track of an asset from P.O. to Completion of Project (For example P.O. Invoice Nos, Location, Installation Date, Project / application etc.)
Maintaining all the logical details of any Server or other asset with the help tool (Maximo).
Involved in every assets transaction from Acquisition to Disposal. Doing IMAC for all the assets installed in Data Centre.
Handling day to day requests of changes made in device details for PAN India.

Project Details: Worked for IBM India client Bharti Airtel
Role: Backup Administrator
Responsibilities:
Perform backups and restoration on daily basis using Symantec netbackup 6.0 & 6.5 through IBM Backup libraries (Model: 3584 etc) and Storagetech L-500 library on LTO and SDLT tapes.
Preparing Backup Dashboard and monthly reports using excel.
Check status of catalog backups on daily basis and take corrective actions in case of errors.
Check Drive status and take corrective actions if in case of error.
Monitoring and management backup tool, check status/health of servers and coordinate with different support teams for failures.
Check media availability status, free slots, status messages on library console panel, tape drive cleaning status, logging calls with hardware vendors for maintenance.
Troubleshooting netbackup errors while taking backups.
Restoring data over LAN WAN SAN.
Import of media in case of using it in different environment.
Media Servers installations.
Taking backup of over 1200 servers including AIX, Linux and Windows on daily basis.
Performing activities on storage libraries like drive cleaning, freeze and unfreezing of media based on the requirement.
Performing incremental, full, cold backups, catalog backups and importing images.
Managing backup policies, volume pools for daily, weekly & monthly backups
