Motor Transportation Operator, Army National Guard. October 2009-Present
Operates all wheel vehicles and equipment over varied terrain and roadways.
Supervises, trains and is responsible for a squad of 6 soldiers on military subjects
Tasks may include: Operate Military tactical vehicles, with or without trailers/
semitrailers, on/off road; perform vehicle PMCS; complete operator records and
accident forms; perform vehicle/equipment exercise; perform tie down and ground
guide procedures; transport cargo; utilize operator technical manuals and strip maps;
change vehicle tires and perform coupling operations.
Assisted individuals with job skills to make sure the individual is prepared to
work and oversee the proper loading and unloading of cargo vehicles and trailers. My
primary function is to ensure the safety and welfare of my soldiers and ensure we
support the unit obectives in peacetime and in war. We have deployed to assist citizens
of the United States in times of natural disasters.
Prepares vehicles for movement /shipment by air, rail or vessel.
Spent over 200 training hours in various field training enviroments for possible
Deployment(s) worldwide within a 96 hour notice.
Distinguished myself by becoming 1 of 20 soldiers earning my Driver’s
Badge.On a first-time “Go basis”out of a group of 45 soldiers. The Driver and Mechanic
Badge is awarded to enlisted soldiers who have received training and have met
specific qualification standards to operate or repair military motor vehicles. For
example, the Driver and Mechanic Badge for wheeled vehicles requires
successful completion of military vehicle operations and maintenance training
and be assigned duties and responsibilities as a driver or assistant driver of government vehicles for a minimum of 12 consecutive months or have driven at least 8,000 miles with no vehicle accidents or traffic violations before one can be awarded the badge.
