Security Program Manager / Senior IT Project Manager – (SPM)
IBM CIO (the client) IT Risk Business Transformation Security Program “IBM Endpoint Manager (IEM/BigFix) Infrastructure” utilizes the Tivoli (BigFix) relevance code to manage IBM’s security compliance posture via “patching policy” for all endpoints, in all GEOs and security zones. IEM/BigFix security solution consists of evaluation / validation, design and deployment of a hierarchical infrastructure of IEM Servers strategically “distributed” geographically and arranged in a blend of Softlayer cloud and IBM hosting. The solution also involves configuration optimization, code development/deployment and design of Steady State Plans with responsibility matrix & FTE estimates to manage infra lifecycle/capacity through new processes, automation of operational reports via Cognos and IEM Dashboard upgrade. Lessons Learned outlined 11 new requirements, their priorities, cost and schedule. Exposure to Q-Radar SIEM, MaaS360 MDM, Cisco VPN, DLP, ISAM, AP Security, Trusteer & various IT Risk Security Programs.
Security Program Manager Responsibilities:
Concept Phase Consulting to define requirements, decompose high business level RFS business requirements into functional & technical requirements, tactical & strategic security solution design, develop WBS, engage required global resources, organize solution scope into sub projects, organize development / deployment in waves within P/SDLC phases, create integrated project plan/s (Waterfall/Agile), estimate budgets, coordinate plans with interdependent projects, execute plans, manage regular change requests (20+ projects & hundreds of associated tasks per work-flow)
Documentation: RFS, BRD, APD/ADD, PDR, SOW, GAP and Cost/Benefit Analysis, Integrated Project Plan, DOUs, Financial Forecasting, Executive Presentations, Deep Dive Audits, Steady State Plans & requirements via Retrospective
Project Management - following a blend of Waterfall/Agile and Business Transformation Methodology (BTMS)
Resource Management - large global project teams (10-60 professionals), CIO Councils and GSS SME support
Consulting of Program Scope – Server to endpoint ratio configuration, Watchdog Application development, deployment of 230+ server instances in 21 datacenters in all GEOs, creation of a new infrastructure in private security zone to support endpoints in “red zone” (internet), creating steady state lifecycle management plans for capacity and scalability
Financial Budgets – high level estimation, demand forecasting, FTE estimation, cost tracking for multi-million dollar, 3.5 year enterprise investment – Steady State cost of ~2 M/year for new infrastructure and Managed Security Services FTE
Clear understanding of the “big picture”, creative problem solving, effective communication, process tailoring and removal of road blocks are essential in managing complex global security solutions
Accomplishments:
Delivered very large and complex global security technology integration solution with PCRs on schedule and budget

Security Policy - managed scope creep triggered by new technologies, new firewall rules and security policies to allow security patching for endpoints that reside in the red zone (internet) in support of Cisco VPN program dependency
Implementation of steady state security and lifecycle management processes and procedures lead to schedule reduction of ~10 months, equivalent to $900K / year (through elimination of having to start new projects)
Suggested requirement of Watchdog code to automate manual process saving 0.5 FTE per year, ~100K / year
