Duties
Responsible for executing the survey function on both surface and underground, this includes
Topographic surveys of surface features for updating of statutory plans
Underground surveys for updating of underground survey plans and sections
Planning daily tasks, organizing and leading a Survey team.
Staking and surveying of exploration boreholes
Month end measuring of production and development ends and calculating monthly tonnages and meters advanced.
Preparation of the weekly and monthly reports on developments advance, production, and ore and waste stockpiles.
Tonnage reconciliations and ore accounting
Draughting and the continual updating of plans and sections based on surveying
Dump surveys (Areas, Volumes and Tonnages) and Stockpile surveys.
Establish directions and gradients on mine workings.
Ensuring compliance with high standards of safety, health and environmental management regulations.
Setting out engineering structures.
Construction of Mining lease and blocks of claims beacons
Ensure the Mining lease and Blocks of claims boundaries are cut.
Training of Survey attachees.
Mine planning and design on short term basis.

Manual drafting and computer aided drafting
Ability to use a Leica total station,Nikon total station and Leica T 100 theodolite
Providing detailed Month End and weekly survey reports
Tonnage reconciliations and ore accounting from the Mine to the Processing plant
Shaft plumbing using the Weisbach triangle method,Co-planning method and the Weis-quadrilateral method
Installation of pegs and Line pegs.
Ensuring all survey work complies with Mine Safety and Inspection standards

Competent in Surpac Software (SA version)
Good knowledge of Excel (spread sheet), PowerPoint presentation and word processing.
