Underwriter/Account Manager

Analyze applicants' financial status and credit to determine feasibility of granting merchant accounts.

Obtain and compile copies of applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.

Explain to customers the different types of merchant service accounts that are available, as well as the terms of those services.

Review merchant agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.

Review all applications before they are submitted to the bank.

Answer all questions the bank may have about the merchant.

Confirm agreement details with merchant and explain any restrictions and monetary amounts they are approved to process.

Ensure merchants get approved for processing volumes that are conducive to their business.

Collaborate with processors regarding potential fraudulent activity and provide proof to their Risk Management department.

Work cross-functionally with Sales Representatives to help them identify merchants that can be easily approved for merchant accounts.

Confirm that all equipment to be leased or already owned by the merchant is PCI compliant.

Communicate with clients after they have been approved to re-confirm terms of service and to ensure terms are understood and adhered to. Answer questions about equipment, billing, and pricing.
