Milton Cat

Spearheaded the creation of a corporate purchasing program to supply all of Milton Cat's heavy machinery repair shops. This included meetings with department heads to gather information and recommendations on what was needed, securing quotes from multiple vendors, negotiating pricing and availability.

Revamped all forms and procedures for stock orders and vendor purchases. This included creating new purchase order forms and an easy to use database for all 60 vendors I was responsible for.

Directed changeover of O-ring inventory from an inefficient vendor managed system to automated min/max stocking through Oracle. This included creating part numbers and locations for more than 300 new items.

Enacted new RMA procedures complete with documentation of the entire process.

Implemented and tracked changes to Min/Max inventory levels as part of an overall cost savings drive.

Set and adjusted stocking levels for all thirteen locations for Caterpillar and vendor products.

Responsible for overseeing Caterpillar as well as 60 other vendors. This included price quotes and negotiations, ordering, order verification, submitting claims for damaged or defective goods, yearly stock returns and verifying receipt of product as part of the accounting process.

Responsible for submitting weekly reports to Caterpillar to request the return of special ordered parts customers either returned or never picked up. This saved the company over $500,000 per year.
