Project Description
The Global Securities Lending (GSL) suite of applications facilitates the Securities Lending business operations which can be defined as the temporary transfer of securities by the beneficial owner (the lender) to another investor/intermediary (the borrower). GSL is a lending agent, given the duty of managing the transaction and executing the lender’s investment objectives. These agreements arise when a holder of securities agrees to provide them to a borrower for a period of time. Securities held in the portfolio of the clients are provided to the broker for a fee. The Bank and the client share in the proceeds of that fee. The process ensures that lending of securities and attaining the proper collateral occur seamlessly. The division is also responsible for ensuring that all collateral and securities are balanced and accounted for and properly recorded within the Securities Lending Division. The division also ensures that earnings generated from the program are properly allocated to the appropriate parties (Client/Bank).
