EXPERIENCE

As a Phlebotomy technician my responsibilities would include being familiar with skin puncture, venipuncture, collection techniques. I would collect the specimen and prepare blood samples which will undergo laboratory testing. I have an understanding of safety procedures which must be followed to prevent the spread of infectious diseases when handling and collecting blood samples. As a phlebotomist another duty trained and performed was to accession all lab specimen and locate them to their necessary department for testing. Futhermore training included traveling to different nursing homes in the area to also obtain specimens needed for appropriate testing. I also was given the opportunity to train and learn all secterial duties in our laborotory. Secretarial work involved standard administrative responsibilities, such as answering phones, making copies, faxing test results, scheduling appointments and maintaining supplies. Additionally, lab secretaries register patients, file and copy all paperwork, order test and coordinate billing. They also communicate with the clinical staff to ensure all appropriate patient information is gathered. Private Home Care, McMinnville, Tennessee Caregiver, Februrary 2012- January 2013

As a caregiver I would provide light housekeeping duties, personal care, which consisted of hygiene, dressing and monitoring medication as well as driving them to their necessary doctor visits. Patients disabilities would include dementia.

Sleep Solutions, Cookeville, Tennessee CPSGT, May-2007 July-2011 As a sleep technician I meeted, greeted and I gathered patient information, such as medical history and a description of the sleep disorder symptoms. I conducted the sleep study, sleep events and disturbances were documented during the study, reviewed the results, and created summary reports that guide the care of the patients. Before testing I would calibrate the equipment to ensue that it is ready to use on patients and spend about an hour prepping the patient for the study. At times as a sleep technician I would assist in the scoring of the patients sleep study.

Morningside Assisted Living, Cookeville, Tennessee RA, January 2007- December 2007

As the name implies, the main responsibility was assisting the residents. I would help residents with daily living, which might include using the toilet, washing, dressing, serving food and collecting food trays. Also help with other tasks such as recreational and social activities. At times would provide assistance to residents who have limited mobility by helping them walk or transporting them in wheelchairs. In addition, would perform administrative tasks such as answering phones and greeting visitors, and provide documentation of care and assistance as well.
