Working as Implementation Specialist (March 2011 – till date) for EMC BRS products

Project: Implementation of EMC BRS products, which includes Networker, Avamar, Data Domain and DPA reporting tool.

Role: As Implementation Specialist we are providing services to EMC Customers. The services includes installing, upgrading, configuring, migrating, licensing, troubleshooting and supporting EMC BRS products and the integration of these products in a dynamic customer environment.

Provide software related custom integration and implementation of EMC products at the customer site involving expanded and often complex configurations in unique environments.

This includes pre-site inspection, design work, initial installation, troubleshooting, implementation, customization, integration, and product orientation for the customer.

Implementation functions includes designing work plans and installation procedures

Install or upgrade EMC software and hardware products in complex Open Systems environments.

Installation functions include technical planning, design review including providing feedback on solution, the creation of implementation configuration files, running/storing cables, defining and applying hardware/software settings and setting up remote support.

Review software operation and management tools, and provide information to customer concerning the operation and use of EMC products implemented.

Troubleshoot problems that arise and proactively alert customer of potential problems

Provide knowledge transfer throughout and at the completion of assigned projects.

Ensure satisfaction through resolution of customer situations, handling product issues, pre-installation site planning, installations/implementations/integrations.

The IT Global command center is an organization with IT to provide support 24x 7x 365 operation. The goal is to restore the IT services faster and more effectively and efficiently.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Perform the day-to-day storage administration tasks such as provisioning, troubleshooting, decommissioning, SAN port management, data movement, etc.

Resolve storage environment related trouble tickets by working with the operations and vendors; escalate to engineering (L3 team) of any standards related issues. Report on storage usage to management and work to maintain buffer capacity by procuring additional storage

Work with account management teams to help understand future storage demand

Work with application teams to tune storage infrastructure to maximize usage and performance

Automate storage related tasks to improve workflow and team efficiency

Execute storage infrastructure projects such as hardware refresh or expansion.

Planning upgrades, migrations to the SANs

NAS home directory migration.

The goal of the project is to migrate the entire NAS Home directories from legacy celerra file servers to the new VNX series. The migrations were done using rsync and NDMP copies.

This scope of the project is consolidating old CX5/6/700’s to CX4’s by migrating the data using Sancopy.

Configuring and creating LUNs, storage groups and SANCOPY sessions.

Create Zones from the Source Clariion to Target Clariion.

Execute the SANCopy sessions.

Configuring, Managing, Administering and Troubleshooting of Issues.

Working with Vendor to solve Hardware related issues.

Co-ordinate between business groups to drive the migration smoothly.
