Cared for an 86 year woman in her home. Care consisted of:

Transferring from wheelchair to bed

Bathing/dressing (with use of shower chair)

Perineal care/mouth care

Protective skin care

Transport to Dr. appts. and outings

Feeding and assisting with eating

Patient was totally dependent and incontinent

Previous Experience

Administered private duty care for two patients. One was a seven year old with various health issues such as a feeding tube, heart ailment, leg braces and respiratory problems. Escorted him daily to school. Interacted with him and other mentally disabled children (severe and mild) (i.e. Autistic and Mutism) Transported him to and from Dr. appts and outside activities. Monitored his health while keeping him safe in classroom environment.

Other patient (now deceased) was totally dependent. Care required use of Hoya lift, feeding and fluid intake, administering meds, bed baths, dressing, toileting and assistance during outings.

Additional Experience

Cared for nursing home residents that were competent and incompetent

Washed and showered residents

Performed perineal care/mouth care (dentures also) foot care/hand care

Bed sore prevention (some wound dressing)

Transferred residents to wheelchairs, walking assistance, bedpan assistance

Performed range of motion activities on shoulders, knees, ankles and feet

Measured and recorded weight, took temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure readings

Served breakfast lunch and fed residents

Assisted terminally ill mother until her transition by:

Preparing medications, cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment

Changing dressings on surgical areas, administering intravenous nutrition

Checking blood sugar, and vitals

Processed medical paperwork, financial paperwork, banking activities (Medicaid, medicare) consulted with Doctors, Nurses, Hospice employees to ensure proper care of patients. Filing, copying, light typing and answered phones. Placed phone orders to vendors.
