Construction Planning & Scheduling, Construction Cost Estimation, Productivity Analysis, Construction Best Practices, Construction Management, Construction sustainability, BIM, Safety Management, Construction/site restoration.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
Construction Cost Estimation, Planning and Scheduling for Columbia Pike Apartments Arlington, VA:
Objective was to determine the Cost Estimation & Scheduling necessary for Concrete section of 5500 Columbia pike Apt Building.
The Total Estimate for Concrete division was found to be $18781613 for a floor area of 466136sft with a price of $40.29/sft.
Outcome of projects was experience of bidding a construction project from the solicitation phase all the way up to tendering the project proposal for evaluation as well as possibility of follow up of owner.
Measurement of Construction Productivity using Micro Cyclone:
Objective was to discover and eliminate lost or ineffective time and familiarize the impact of construction productivity.
Measured performance against realistic expectations and set operating goals for Construction Environment using 5 minute rating and work sampling techniques.
Sensitivity analysis was done using Web Cyclone and results for different combinations of resources were evaluated the calculated production per unit time are 68 % for 76 cycles.
Installation of Large Diameter Water Transmission pipe line project:
Objective was to design a 150 miles large diameter water transmission pipe making use of Construction specifications thereby minimizing cost and time producing productive and efficient work.
The surplus disposal/Spoil has been made use of laying road for a dimension of 15ft*1ft next to the pipe segments, There by averting the expense of disposal of the dump which in turn brought about 2% savings.
A strategic implementation in pipe installation segments reduced the duration of project by 7 months and Cost by about 1 million.
Based on standard unit production rates and costs, the project is anticipated to require on the order of $11.04 Million and requires 3 years for constructing the entire segments.
Strengthening of RC Beams (Retrofitting using Coir Fibers and Polyester resin):
Experiment was conducted on five Reinforced Concrete beams which include controlled, Retrofitted beams using the techniques- Wrapping done by using Coir fibers and Polyester resin.
Improvement of Load Bearing Capacity of Retrofitted Reinforced Concrete Beams by “Wrapping with Coir Fibers and Polyester Resins”.
Beams Retrofitted with 40% Coir fibers, were found to be Stiffer and carry 48% more Load than when compared to Controlled beams.
Extensive Survey Project (4 prototype projects under the 15 day field training initiative as part of undergraduate program) :
Conducted a comprehensive survey and estimation for a New Tank Project, Water Supply and Sanitary Project at Melukote.
Operated the Survey Equipment and Mapped the Geography of the area.
Designed Water Treatment Plant and analyzed the water needs of the area and Geopolitical importance of the water source.
Laid Compound curve for the Proposed Highway.
