Bachelor in Computer Science at University of Mosul / Iraq June 1994

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

- Software Development Engineer, Magneti Marelli Automative, USA, Inc. 11/5/2015 to present

Responsibilities: establish the connection between a phone and a car. Modify the software to make the phone interact with the car via USB correctly to get the audio, video, touchscreen, Bluetooth, and microphone. Working on Projection Compatibility Test Suite (PCTS). Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle. Gesture control is developed with HMI.

- Software developer, (PhD’s dissertation), Michigan State University 8/25/2011 to 12/12/2014

Responsibilities: The title is “Protocols Development for Security and Privacy of Radio Frequency Identification Systems (RFID)”. Three protocols have been developed to provide better security and privacy in Radio Frequency Identification Systems (RFID)”. In each protocol, a new idea is achieved for providing integrity and mutual authentication, preventing man in the middle and replay attacks, and revoking a compromised RFID reader from the system. These protocols were written in C/ C++ language using IAR Embedded workbench, which is an integrated development environment with the C/C++ compiler to generate a faster code and to debug the microcontroller MSP430. The execution time is measured based on the number of operations that are performed by an RFID tag.

- Assistant Professor, Computer & Mathematical Science/ University of Mosul / Iraq Responsibilities: Teaching C/C++ languages theoretical & practical. 9/17/2002 to 8/1/2008

- Senior Research Associate, Computer & Mathematical Science/ University of Mosul / Iraq Responsibilities: Teaching practically Data structure with Pascal, Micro processing, Database with FoxPro, Computer networks, and Security. 7/31/1999 to 9/17/2002

- Research Associate, Engineering/ University of Mosul / Iraq

Responsibilities: Data structure and analysis: Performed information system program for data input, design programming and analysis for the staff members of the College of Engineering, administrative proficiency in the Engineering department, Research Associate in Civil Engineering, and teaching methods training in the College of Education. 11/5/1994 to 7/31/1999

RESEARCH RELATED WORK:

-Three protocols have been developed for providing a better security and privacy in Radio Frequency Identification Systems (RFID). In each protocol, a new idea was achieved for providing integrity and mutual authentication, preventing man in the middle & replay attacks, and revoking a compromised RFID reader from the system. These protocols were written in C/ C++ language using IAR Embedded Workbench, which is an integrated development environment with the C/C++ compiler for generating a faster code and for debugging the microcontroller MSP430. The execution time was measured based on the number of operations that are performed by an RFID tag, 2010-2014- (Ph.D. - dissertation).

-“Robust Image Watermarking Using RBF Neural Network”. This paper is discussing a special scheme based on Radial Basis Function neural network (RBF) for hiding information or images into a covered image. This method is one of the ways to protect individual’s work by embedding and extracting an image into a covered image. It was written using MATLAB, 2011- (project).

-“Simulation of IP Packet Classification on Network Simulator (NS2)”. This paper is for implementing two packet classification algorithms (linear search algorithm and Binary decision diagram) using NS2 written in C++ language using Linux system, 2010- (project).

-“Improved Hybrid Adaptive Resonance Theory 1 and Genetic Algorithm Neural Network”. This topic deals with recognition and classification of the character letters by using one of the Neural Networks. It was written in C language, 2002 - (Master degree- thesis).

HONORS and ACHIEVEMENTS:

-Awarded the scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education in Iraq to get PhD in Network Security in 2008 and started the program in August 25th 2008.

-Awarded the fellowship from School of Packaging/ Michigan State University/ for successful accomplishing of my Ph.D.-work’s research in Radio Frequency Identification System in December 2013.

-Earned certificate CCNA 1- Networking Basics of the Cisco Networking Academy Program on May 26th, 2007 in Mosul, Iraq.
