Access Sciences 11/17/2014 ~ Current Senior Developer
Worked on a small development team on two different projects. The front end for the web apps are ASP.net (HTML5) utilizing Telerik controls, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, bootstrap and AJAX resulting in a responsive interface. Code behind is C# (.net 4.6). SQL Server was the primary backend. The data layer is generated using LLBLGen so SQL, Oracle and MySQL back ends are supported. The team used scrum within TFS to follow an Agile development philosophy. One application generated retention schedules based upon industries and regulatory bodies for each client. Reports are generated using local SQL Server Reports. The other application was more complex. A service application was used to scan source and target file repositories. The systems supported are windows file systems and SharePoint. The service application reads and writes files and file attributes. The web app allowed users to analyze the existing file structure and map the files to a new structure.
Insource Technology 10/16/2006 ~ 11/16/2014 (10/16/06~04/18/07 Contract) Senior Technology Consultant
Performed consulting and development work for several clients across numerous industries including banking, real estate and health care. Applications are primarily Web based developed in ASP.net, CSS, JQuery with C# and VB.net using SQL Server as the back-end. The majority of the Web Apps were Web forms but I also developed several small MVC Web Apps. To simply the application environment at the last client, we began to move to a service-oriented architecture. I began the process by identifying processes which were common to multiple applications, creating web services to replicate the common functionality and then changed the existing systems to consume those services. Testing typically took two forms. The first was manual regression testing following scripts and the second was automated testing using build server and TFS (2013). While at a client in the Health care industry, I wrote several data extraction procedures to produce HL7 format files. As part of my responsibilities, I conducted several data migrations, setup SQL replication and integrated applications with Exchange and Active Directory. Implemented and administered a document management system (Smart Search).
Databytes 07/03/2006 ~ 10/13/2006 Senior Developer
Developed several ASP.net applications for the health care industry, the applications were written in Visual Studio 2005 ASP.net/C# utilizing Web Express scheduler control and accessing SQL Server 2000 / 2005 and My SQL for the backend. The data access layers were generated using Net-Tiers and Code Smith. The applications were mainly physician management applications with an intranet based management site and an internet search site.
CTLS Inc. 10/18/2004 ~ 06/06/06 Lead Developer/ Project Manager
Lead Developer and Project Manager for the real estate/timeshare web development project. I took over control and development direction of the web application which included managing a team of 3 other programmers. We were tasked to take an ASP.net/SQL Server 2000 application and correct perceived design problems and add missing functionality. The first problem was the database structure did not meet even first normal form. I redesigned the database so every table at least met second normal form. We then moved to modify the existing Store Procedures and the data access logic to meet the new data structure. After that was completed, we started to work on missing functionality based upon the original design specifications and changes in the business model. During the process we optimized the application. This included optimizing the Stored Procedures and UDFs in SQL Server and streamlining the user interface. Report Services was used to create all reports, contracts and letters.
In the process of migrating from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005, the stored procedures and triggers were updated to take advantage of the new SQL Server 2005 features.
DataBytes 08/09/2004 ~ 10/15/2004 Senior System Developer
Developed ASP.net/C# website with SQL Server 2000 backend for scheduling appointments with Doctors’ offices part of a 3 developer team. The initial population of the database is through a link to an automated dialing application with voice response system. The voice response systems are installed at the Doctor’s offices and uses web services to update the central SQL Server. Updates from the central web site are pushed to each Doctor’s office via web services. The updates drove the automated appointment reminder calls.
Houston Information Team, LLC 06/01/2003 ~ 08/06/2004 Database Development
Debugged and enhancements to a Purchase Order system written in Visual FoxPro. Produced and executed test cases to ensure that changes did not cause any additional bugs.
Developed several ASP.net / C# web sites utilizing Telerik controls with SQL Server 2000 for the Back-end. The website’s menu system and security settings were stored in SQL. Each new page had an entry in the menu table with a link to its parent item, whether that parent was a menu name or another page.
Loaded and configured Windows 2003 Server with SQL Server 2000 to be used for the production environment of the Procurement website. I also wrote custom reports in Crystal Reports and Excel against SQL Server 2000 back-end.
SF-DCT 11/01/2001 ~ 05/31/2003 Data Analyst III
I was the SQL Server DBA and Technical Lead for designing an application for processing of claims in a mass torte settlement. The application is written in VFP with SQL Server back-end and Crystal Reports for reporting. Claim forms can be either manually entered through the interface or entered via scanning. The scanning process includes modules for OCR/ICR of the data on the form, verification of data and transfer into the live data set. Medical records are scanned for archival and pagination. Other modules within the application are Maintaining Claimant Demographic data.
