Network Consultant – Contract

Responsible for Migrating 1200+ Legacy DDS2 (SNA) network to an IP base network using DLSw+. This migration has been design to help facilitate future computer center move and to save Dept of Education Hundred’s of thousand of dollars on lease line cost and antiquated equipment. Provided technical guidance in both SNA and IP networking to assist the field technician with deployment, design, validation, testing, and migration of leagcy SNA network services over IP using Data Link Switching technology. Configure VLAN’s on 6509, 3548’s, and 2924XL cisco switches and ISL trunking to support project.

AmQUEST, Inc. (12/97 – 4/04) Atlanta, GA

Sr LAN/WAN Engineer

Responsible for network design and implementation of the AmQUEST Cisco network. Responsible for coordinating solutions in the data network infrastructure to insure uninterrupted service and support to customers. Evaluate, coordinate, and implement all software upgrades associated with the data network support platforms. Duties included the VPN design and configuration, and access-list design and configuration of Cisco 7140, 7120 routers, 3030, 3005 VPN Concentrators and PIX 515, 520 Firewalls. Provisioned and configured existing PIX-515 firewall in conjunction with their inside and outside Internet routers. Provisioned and designed the deployment of WAN networks using Cisco 2500, 2600, 3600, 4000, 7000 and 7513 series routers. Knowledgeable with HSRP, NAT, OSPF, EIGRP, -4, Access-list (filters) . The topologies discussed above include ISDN, Frame-relay, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint. Configured catalyst 6509, 5509, and 4000 providing network connectivity cascading from the wiring closets to Distribution and core switches. Configured MSFCs, RSMs, Sup I, Sup II, and Sup II catalyst cards to provide the necessary connectivity to other areas on the LAN/WAN topology.
