Dear Hiring Professionals,
I am writing in response to you advertised job position as a Walmart dedicated truck driver. I currently have 2 years experience under my belt as a licensed class A CDL driver.
My driving record is in wonderful standing as I would consider myself to be a very cautious and thoughtful driver.
I believe I would be a great asset to your team in this position due to my ability to learn quickly and I am someone who genuinely loves what I do. Being a professional driver is something I enjoy. During my time as a driver, I have worked with Walmart distribution centers in two different job positions I held so I have experience here and would fit right in.
My experience as a driver has made me knowledgeable in many areas. I have experience in dry van, making sure the load is secure and stable. In the past I have also maintained refer loads, been aware of the temperature and gas levels, insuring the loads are delivered in perfect condition, all while maintaining a safe work environment. Staying organized is very important to me and I take pride in knowing my job has been completed. I keep great record of all my loads and work well with customers, making sure all payments have been received and all required signatures are in place. On a daily basis, I work well to coordinate my runs and my available hours to optimal levels to ensure all my time is used wisely. I am always working with my GPS and maps to figure the best routs to deliver your freight.
I hope to hear from you soon to discuss my compatibility for this wonderful opportunity and can be reached any time at 937-***-****
Thank you for your consideration,
Joseph Shiverdecker

Work Experience
C.R. England.
02/2014-09/2014
While employed at C.R. England I worked their school program and gained the experience needed to obtain my CDL. Through months of working with a trainer I learned all I needed to become a well rounded driver. In this position I learned how to handle the long hours placed in front of me in my new career as a driver. Through this job I also trained in learning all my backing maneuvers and gained experience working over the road.
U.S. Xpress
09/2014-02/2015
Working for U.S Express was a different change of pace in my career. While working here, I was home daily and had to work around a very flexible schedule. I worked a local run delivering groceries to local Walmart stores. It was my responsibility to ensure all the product the store ordered was delivered. Nothing more or less was to be removed from the truck. I would deliver to multiple stores a night. I had to always be cautious of my run time to ensure no loads were late and I was able to get back home on a daily basis.
S&J Trucking, Frontier Transport.
02/2015-09/2015
S&J Trucking was a company owned by an independent man who attached his company to Frontier Transport. I had two people to report to in this position and had to tackle paper logs for the first time. I ran scrap paper back and forth through the same route everyday and came home on weekends. While employed here I experienced a fair bit of difficult backing maneuvers and by the time I left the company, I was a much better driver for it.
LTI Trucking
09/2015-03/2016
LTI was an over the road position with a dedicated run to Blue Bunny ice cream in Iowa. Driving for them, I did a drop and hook at Blue Bunny, and ran a load of ice cream out to Walmart distribution centers across the country and picked up broker loads back to Iowa. I experienced brokers for the first time while employed here. It was my job to report to the brokers about the status of the loads on a daily basis.
