ENGINEERING PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Engineering Physics Senior Design – Characterization of Defects in nano-crystalline Si-QD
Characterized defects in nano-crystalline Si-QD using Electron Spin Resonance (ESR)
Prepared and sealed oxygen sensitive Si-QD using glove box and blow torch
Performed ESR experiments at room temperature and 77K using cryogenics
EPICS II - Blue Pine Design Team Manager
Managed a team of five people in completing a project that utilized pine beetle killed pine trees to design products such as furniture and household items (e.g. end tables, bookshelves, and bathmats) for United Wood Products. Made cost analysis and bill of materials (BOM) for team designed products that conform to industry standards. Conducted meetings as well as design reviews with the company liaison. Project milestones were met and pine beetle wood product designs were delivered on time and within budget.
EPICS I - High Altitude Albedo Project Team Project
Designed device to measure albedo rays in relation to the sun at high altitudes for Lockheed Martin. This project involved conceptual designing under adherence to the DemoSat requirements set by the Colorado Space Grant Consortium.
EXPERIENCE
NFT Automation, Contract Mechanical Engineer April 2015-August 2015
Designed and drafted complex mechanical components, electro-mechanical components, and assemblies for automated machinery
Created and maintained project documentation such as machine operation manuals as well as verification and validation documents
Developed solutions to mechanical problems in new and existing products for continuous improvement
Colorado School of Mines Mechanical Dept., Graduate Teaching Assistant May 2014-December 2014
Operated and taught students, faculty, and staff how to use HAAS mini-mill, SolidWorks, and MasterCAM to machine HDPE, acrylic, aluminum, and alloy steel
Improved turnover times for machining on HAAS mini-mill
Colorado School of Mines Metallurgical Laboratory, Lab Assistant August 2009-December 2014
Maintained, serviced, and repaired laboratory equipment including sectioning saws, linear grinders, and other machines to ensure students had a trouble-free student experience
Monitored and procured materials from vendors to helped facilitate consumable usage of lab resources
Sectioned, mounted, and heat treated samples for experiments
