SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Designed and Implemented:

Approaches that drastically improved performance and scalability of simulated losses for the global insurance and reinsurance industry as part of the risk management of the different kinds of catastrophic disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and others.

Three versions (desktop, Web and mobile) of the system that monitors execution of the main risk management application for RMS clients – RiskLink (RL).

Code generator that significantly reduced the implementation time of the import & export systems for the next generation of RMS application – RMS(one).

Tool for converting RL hazard files to RMS(one) ones that are crucial for RMS(one) success.

Session Initiations Protocol (SIP) that increased the number of SPIRENT’s clients.

GLMap application, a web-based A-GPS performance analysis and visualization and monitoring tool that provides operational information in real time for data processing from Global Locate (GL) reference stations to GL’s customers. These systems were presented to President Clinton.

Client-server application for the US Air Force that won a competition among 9 companies and received a $9M contract.

Subsystems that kept track of contractors (TRW, Rockwell International, Lockheed and others) that won three government awards including the prestigious Hammer Award.

EXPERIENCE

PathSolutions, Sunnyvale, CA

8/2015 -present

Contractor

Responsible for modifying and incorporating SNMP v3 into the company's framework, fixing memory leaks and performance problems.

PatternBuilders, Foster City, CA

8/2014 to 6/2015

Contractor

PatternBuilders provides a big data analytics platform. I took part in development of the main application AnaliticsPBI built for the Azure cloud platform. Developed the front- end including a KPI dashboard, using the Kendo UI, TypeScript, SignalR, and model views, filtering and statistical analysis of big data on the back-end using C#, the Owin interface, Orleans Framework, Autofac IoC container, and Nancy.

RISK MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS, INC. (RMS), Newark, CA

10/2009 to 8/2014

Principal Software Engineer

Took part in development of RL that quantifies the impact of natural and man-made catastrophes for the global insurance and reinsurance industries. RL is a multi-machine distributed application built on C/C++/C#, WCF and WPF. Used R for assessment of algorithm correctness, and visualization of damage and loss curves. Designed and implemented:

In-house profiler that can work in the multi-machine system for application that consumed excessive CPU and memory resources.

Approaches that drastically improved performance and scalability of simulated losses by replacing a SQL server with binary files as output of the loss calculation module (can be several terabytes) that were used for the post processing which estimates losses for different aggregation parameters.

Database security tool that anonymizes DB data.

Tools including the RL monitoring system, automated code generator, converting, merging and analyzing the input and output data that made development process much faster.

SPIRENT COMMUNICATIONS, Sunnyvale, CA

05/2005 to 9/2009

Senior Software Engineer

As a member of the Avalanche team, working in the Linux high volume transaction environment

Designed and implemented the SIP library using C++ for IP4/IP6, TCP/UDP, based on RFC 3261, and incorporated of the SIP subsystem to the Avalanche’s framework.

Took part in the implementation of Dot1x and NACP, and fixed bugs for several other protocols like FTP, HTTP and so on.

GLOBAL LOCATE CORPORATION, San Jose, CA

04/2001 to 08/2005

Senior Software Engineer

Designed and developed:

GLMap application that is an A-GPS performance analysis and visualization test tool. The user can derive a wealth of performance information, including, among others, satellite constellation, cold start success, accuracy and timing, subsequent fixes success, signal strength indicators and distribution.

Web-based monitoring tool that provides operational information in real time for data processing from GL reference stations to GL’s customers.

GL Ephemeris Server and the collection and processing of ephemeris, ionospherics, almanac and time information from various sources of GPS reference stations (RS). These sources include: GL network, the Jet Propulsion laboratory, NOAA’s continuously Operation RS, and Crustal Dynamics Data Information Services.

Automated tool for getting/parsing NANU information, and incorporating this information into GL’s systems.

SNMP library for monitoring of wide range of computers, devices and applications that were used for the company's GPS activities.

COMMAND AUDIO, Redwood City, CA

04/1998 to 03/2001

Senior Software Engineer

Designed and developed:

On Demand Authoring Studio that is a tool for creating smart audio programs for subsequent broadcasting.

Command Audio high volume transaction web application that is used for ordering Command Audio’s services by users.

Content Director application that is used to set and maintain the parameters that control how Command Audio programs are captured, processed, transmitted, and presented on client receivers.

THE AUTOMATION GROUP, Redwood Shores, CA

04/1994 to 03/1998

Senior Software Engineer

Responsible for the architecture, design, and development of client/server multiplatform, distributed SQL-based Office Automation applications. The ICARS product is a mission critical application for the US Air Force to keep track of contractor’s (TRW, Rockwell International, Lockheed, and others) activities and to support government standards. Duties included analysis, design, and development of the following components of the product:

Document Development System (DDS) for creation, maintenance, review, and editing of large hierarchical documents in a client-server environment. As architect and chief developer of DDS, was responsible for all architectural decisions and system design.

Requirement Support System that supports creation, maintenance, review, and editing of links between government requirements and documents.

Database Administration System, which allows a database administrator to effectively maintain databases. This system also included a Security subsystem and a Data Mover Application that can move and convert information across databases.
