EXPERIENCE
National Oilwell Varco – Mechanical Engineer; Conroe, TX September 2014 – March 2016
• Designed 3 new Measurement While Drilling tools on the eTool New Product Development team resulting in automated drilling applications for drilling optimization using stream thru features ultimately reducing drilling costs and downtime for clients
• Managed the full cycle implementation of ~100 CAD models, technical 2D drawings, and RFQs from design to manufactured product controlling and overseeing all documents related to each line item ensuring deadlines for projects were met
• Worked ~1000 hours hands on calibrating, designing, and testing new custom tools and fixtures while also sustaining older developed tools focusing on the individual needs of each product to ensure peak performance and reliability in the field
• Initiated finite element analysis on tools, assembly systems, and individual parts to test breaking points and longevity under certain loads resulting in approval for manufacturing or redevelopment of the tool.
• Performed computational fluid dynamics analysis to pass along needed data and insight to drillers and clients for optimal placement of the tool or part depending upon the pressure drops collected and recorded during the examination Woodgroup Kenny - Technical Specialist; Houston, TX June 2013 – June 2014
• Performed pipeline design, analysis, and documentation for various pipeline projects providing expertise and insight to clients
• Collaborated with internal multidisciplinary teams to design flowlines, export pipelines, and other subsea operations for 3 projects
• Produced ~6 quarterly design reports and ~100 technical drawings under various codes and standards per project annually
• Innovated a new process using cutting edge technology to determine the outcome of pipeline crossings leading to a more thorough development and deployment of pipeline infrastructure for projects ensuring the highest integrity JP Kenny, Inc. - Summer Intern; Houston, TX May-August 2011 & May-August 2012
• Orchestrated thermal and wall thickness calculations by developing and coding user-friendly excel spreadsheets ultimately cutting 20 hours a week in preFEED design and development phases for the pipeline engineers per project
• Assisted in performing Span Analysis using OFFPIPE program to determine if subsea supports were required for a project. This analysis assisted the team to choose the best route based on price using the shortest route to keep costs to a minimum ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Undergraduate Research January 2013 – May 2013
• Researched and built an interactive Ruben’s Flame Tube using hydrocarbon combustion for the Science Spectrum in Lubbock, TX. Senior Design Project – ASME Design Competition May 2013
• Collaborated with 6 classmates 4 hours a week for a semester to design and create a custom remote controlled robotic car that performed various tasks based on competition parameters and guidelines placing 7th out of 20 submissions LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE AND ACTIVITIES Woodgroup Kenny Young Guns – Social Chair April 2014 – June 2014
• Managed 2 corporate outreach community events across 60 employees for the Houston location including a toy and food drive Tech Climbing Club - Secretary August 2012 – June 2013
• Managed all membership paperwork across 30 members while also performing logistics to 2 climbing competitions and 10 trips HONORS
• Technical Achievement Award – 5” Blackstream EMS MWD tool March 2016
