I was employed part time as a FNP under an Internal Medicine protocol. I also performed Well woman exams, school and sport physicals and all duties within an ARNP scope of practice. I worked under an Internal Medicine protocol with Dr. Brunel Joseph and J.A. Pierre, MD I performed all duties within an ARNP scope of practice and within parameters of office protocols. Duties included but were not limited to: Skin shave biopsies, suturing minor lacerations, I.V. therapy for hydration, antibiotic therapy and osteoporosis therapy. I performed all well women exams and also treated mild acute triage patients. Other duties included: Complete history and physicals on new and established patients, appropriate diagnosing and ordering of diagnostic tests and medications as indicated. I also initiated in office treatment for: COPD exacerbation, CHF, acute Asthma episodes, mild to moderate hypoglycemic events and mild to moderate pain due to trauma. I also managed Coumadin clinic and educated patients with nutrition and medication review. Patient education included: Managing diabetes, nutrition review, health and wellness review, medication review to include natural, supplement and homeopathic medications. As a bilingual NP, all education I made available in Spanish and English and could include patient family or caregiver.

I examined 15-20 patients daily and covered an array of chronic diagnoses such as: Diabetes type 2, chronic hypertension, thyroid disease states and management, chronic mild to moderate pain, chronic asthma, COPD and CHF patients. I also brought on board the Hillsborough County Breast and Cervical Screening program, offering women 50-64 years of age access to free pap smears and mammograms. I have been involved with this program for Over 6 yrs.

2006-2008 OWNER/CEO: Tampa Women’s Wellness Ctr, PA I owned and operated TWWC located at 800 W. Dr. M.L.King, Jr. Blvd Suite 2, Tampa,FL This center serviced women from teenage through menopausal stage of life. The emphasis centered on a wholistic approach to women’s healthcare. The office incorporated integrative medicine, therapeutic massage therapy, weight management classes as well as medical interventions. Routine Gynecological and physical exams were offered as well as free pap smears through the Hillsborough County Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program grant. I managed a staff of 5 and had supervisory physician protocol. 2003-2005 ARNP, James Brookins, M.D. Internal Medicine Retired Performed all duties under an Internal Medicine protocol, part time employment with physician. I was responsible for 10-12 patients daily, performed routine physicals and managed chronic disease states, ordered diagnostic testing and appropriate medications as indicated. Served as community health liaison and managed Diabetic education clinic.
