Led build-out and process definition for creation of corporate class 100 clean room facilities.
Created and ran a prototype 50ghz bandwidth electro-optic polymer modulator production process including full clean room travelers and test protocols
Led a world class team of chemists synthesizing new and proprietary electro-optic material systems for commercialization of potentially terabit communication systems.
Instituted dual source and fully traceable supply chain systems and corresponding real time master database correlating material test performance to device performance results.
Re-engineered and ran the optical testing lab operations for electro-optical testing of proprietary materials and devices. This resulted in an immediate performance feedback loop allowing rapid modification and enhancement of device and material performance characteristics

Hands on management of a team of laser diode packaging experts, individual contributor for various clean room based product development activities including gold-tin solder and lead tin solder techniques for heat sinking high power InP and GaAs laser diode assemblies.
Took the process development team through a full Green belt/Black belt EIT course. Completed all course work and drove >150K cost improvement on legacy product line.
Continuous improvement activities included qualifying and installing new capital equipment, focused a tight integration between the process development team and the running production floor environment resulting in reduced cycle times and 20% improved first time yields
Drove M203 range finder based laser component program through a gate based product development business cycle. Qualified new vendors, identified, analyzed and eliminated significant cost of poor quality issues in the legacy supply chain,

Designed and patented new electro-optic polymer modulators, created new RF electrode designs and DRIE-ICP fabrication techniques, specified and led the construction of a class 100 clean room.
Instituted state of the art multi-layer Si wafer based clean room lithography, thin film low-k dielectric coating, DRIE-ICP etching, and sputter metallization fully documented fabrication processes.

Led the 32V digital TV deflection unit technical product development effort. Guided the Electron-optic HDTV design from hands-on prototype development in Eindhoven N.V. to specification, installation, and development of a multi-tool production line for mass production in Juarez Mexico of 500k units/year @ $600/unit of 32V digital TV assemblies.

Instituted new testing methodologies eliminating significant out of spec internal material transfer from Plant 5 Juarez Mexico to production facilities in Findley Ohio.
