SUMMARY
• A result-driven software engineer who can think out of the box.
• Proficient in C, C++, network programming, TCP/IP and 3G/4G PCC (Policy and Credit Control) architecture.
• Hands on experience working with Perl, Ruby, Ruby on Rails 4, HTML/CSS.
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture, RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of Object oriented programming, basic design patterns and relational database.
• Experience in designing and developing complex, large scale software system that can handle millions of simultaneous subscribers.
• Open and eager to learn new technologies.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SANDVINE TECHNOLOGIES SOFTWARE ENGINEER May 2012 – Sept 2013 PCRF with Embedded Quota Management as per 3GPP standards
• Was responsible for design, implementation, test and documentation of user credit management system in diameter Gx interface (server side implementation of Gx usage monitoring).
• Designed and developed core logic to handle subscriber usage on the events of Credit Control Request-Init, Update and Terminate.
• Designed and developed data model to handle family plans (multiple subscribers sharing same plan).
• Developed an efficient model to prevent over usage by the users and minimize revenue leakage for the operators.
• Designed and implemented configurations that provides great flexibility for service providers to define their service plans.
• Developed the system to handle error conditions like no more quota available for the request, subscriber not provisioned for requested service, abnormal termination etc.
• Designed and developed advanced features to handle rollovers (rollover at the end of month in case of monthly quota), top-ups, event triggers in different scenarios.
• Involved in code review for peers.
• Collaborated and worked to fix build issues.
Tools and Technologies used:
C, C++, Perl, ClearCase, Unix, Windows, Spirent
CISCO SYSTEMS SOFTWARE ENGINEER June 2010 – April 2012 Traffic Performance Optimization - an inline service in 3G/4G core network that provides client side optimization for wireless TCP.
• Involved in analysis of wireless TCP behavior by running simulations and analyzing packet captures using tcpdump and wireshark to identify spurious retransmissions and to distinguish wireless losses from congestion losses.
• Involved with other team members on the research and simulation of various congestion control algorithms such as TCP Reno, Vegas and their behavior in different TCP states.
• Implemented various TCP optimizer algorithms like Duplicate Selective ACK (rfc2883, configurable TCP buffers.
• TPO uses TCP proxy to split the end to end TCP connection. Worked on integration of TPO with TCP proxy when TCP proxy went through a major architectural change.
• Implement stats to showcase TCP behavior.
• Discovered and fixed flaws in the code impairing TCP performance. For example, fixed a bug that caused TCP Reno to behave unfairly when TCP connections were shared. Tools and Technologies used:
C, Wireshark, Winscp, Xming, tcpdump, bitkeeper, Linux, Windows PROJECTS
QoS aware handover mechanism for Voice over IP
• Assisted a senior professor in developing a QoS aware handover mechanism for Voice over IP that can operate in a heterogeneous wireless network environment using multi-homing capability of SCTP.
• This work proposes SCTP based handover solution for VoIP called Endpoint Centric Handover which incorporates cross-layer metrics for voice quality assessment to accurately estimate the QoS of candidate handover networks, thus facilitating a more intelligent handoff decision.
Tools and Technologies used:
C++, NS2.
Twitter like microblogging website
• Implemented both front-end and back-end of the website.
• The primary features of the website include: user sign up with account activation, user authentication, remembering logged in users with cookies, view/follow other users, write micro- posts, getting feed of micro-posts from following users.
• The website was built completely based on REST architecture.
• Throughout development the code was version controlled using Git.
• The website was hosted using heroku.
Tools and Technologies used:
Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Git, BitBucket, Heroku, HTML/CSS, Twitter bootstrap EDUCATION
College Of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai India 2006-2010
• Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology with GPA: 8.21/10. Coursework: Programming Languages; Object Oriented Programming, Algorithms; Operating Systems; Database;
