To obtain full- time employment utilizing my training, experience, and interest as a packaging engineer. Internship
Packaging Engineering Co- op, Ethicon Endo- Surgery, Johnson & Johnson, Cincinnati, OH 6/14- 12/14 Designed sterile medical device packaging systems using: Form Fill Seal, SBS, corrugated, rigid PETG blisters and Tyvek. Learned World Class Manufacturing practices, lean thinking, and 6S. Executed simulated transit testing for design verification of package designs. Developed packaging specification forms for over 60 parts between 16 models, including cost information, dimensions, logistics, and supplier contact information. Performed packaging preliminary and feasibility studies to increase line side efficiency, ergonomic benefits, logistics savings, and product protection. Experience working in cross- functional teams with Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, and Quality departments. Gained experience in a fast-paced, Medical Device & Diagnostics environment.
• Designed a secondary packaging component that prevented movement of the product within its primary package.
• Conducted statistical analysis of test data using Minitab statistical software to make data based technical decisions
(2 sample T-tests, 1-Var stats). Results were used to find statistical significance in accelerated aging deformations.
• Designed loosely ideated concepts on ArtiosCAD and rapidly prototyped testable packaging components using a Kongsberg Cutting Table.
