ABA/Behavior Therapist

OBJECTIVE

As I transition from the health care and child developmental field and into the mental health field, I am looking to advance my practical skills and knowledge in psychology and sociology. I am seeking a position in the mental health field either as a Behavioral Therapist/Counselor or Mental Health Therapist/Counselor. I am dedicated in providing an effective and productive health care for patients as well as helping children, youth and adults during their developmental process.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Behavioral Technician/Therapist, Epic Health Services, North Brunswick, NJ 12/2015-Present Behavioral Technician/Therapist who provides ABA therapy at the client’s home from 18months-21 years old based on BCBA guidelines and lesson plans. Provided in helping a child develop emotionally and behaviorally using play based approaches or behavioral techniques.

Perform 1:1 ABA therapy program based on assessment done by BCBA

Set up environment to work in a one-on-one settings with clients to provide the needed attention to each individual

Provide psychological and educational techniques based on the needs of each client

Motivate the client through positive reinforcement of good behaviors and ignoring incorrect behaviors

Help in correcting communication, academic, social and behavioral skills depending on the client’s needs and issues.

Document data onto data sheet and an online system called Rethink to input data based on what ABA programs were offered ( put in the %/ +/- responses of each program based on clients responses)

Provide reinforcements appropriate for age group

Patient care associate who assisted professional staff (Nurses, Physicians, and Physician Assistance) in dealing with over 30 or more patients a day with drawing blood, performing EKG's, transporting patients to and from CAT scan, MRI's, and ultrasound.

Perform skills which include observation and documentation of vital signs, EKG's, phlebotomy, I&O, weight, height, skin condition, provided ADL, hygiene, treatments, procedures and elimination of assigned patients and obtained reports on patients status
