General Job Description:

-Check all Plans, Drawing and sketches of proposed project.

-Prepares Materials, Equipment and Personnel.

-Checks the metal pipes or plates to be welded.

-Consider the welding system to be utilized.

-Welds metal parts as specified by layouts, diagrams, work order or oral instruction using electrical ARC gas or welding equipment.

-Starts power supply and adjust equipments to get desired amperage from unit or get the proper gas mixture base on type and thickness of metal and specified bead.

-Guides electrodes, filler rods of flux along weld lines and examines weld for size of bead penetration.

-Tack welds, assembles together and may weld along vertical or overhead welding lines.

-Grinds or chips- off excess welds slag or splatter.

-Perform cutting and brazing operations.

-Maintain cleanliness and proper utilization and safekeeping of machines, tools and equipments issued.

-Reports any malfunctioning or need for repairs of these.

-Observe and maintains cleanliness and good housekeeping practices in the work area and its immediate surroundings.

-Exercise safely precautions before, during and after welding jobs.

-Perform other duties as may be assigned by the production supervisor.
