PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Project: Infosys IP – Mobile application development platform, Infosys Ltd., Pune, India (Jul 2006 – Sep 2013)

Project Summary:

It is a J2EE based Infosys IP platform that enables developers to create applications for smartphones and tablets. It caters to both Mobile Web, as well as Native clients for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone as well as Java (J2ME) clients. For both web and native client, a common server takes care of handling the device diversity. The platform is designed in such a way that it can be integrated with any existing infrastructure (Operating System, Application Server, and Database), so that mobile enabling an existing application is possible without any additional software requirements.

Given the above specifications, all the product features had to be designed in a generic and configurable way, considering a vast range of application servers and databases. Also the integration layer had to be generic enough, so that the platform could be used and integrated with any application framework/web service. Even though it was essentially a J2EE based server, it had to provide an integration layer flexible enough to connect with either Java or .NET based backend systems including SOAP based/restful webservices over HTTP/ HTTPS.
