Main Tasks and
Responsibilities
Operates the cranes by loading and unloading all types of material and equipment in accordance with specific lifting procedures. Transports under special circumstances (bad weather conditions) personnel by basket from mains platforms to boats and vice versa. Includes following up on movement of material between the different locations to ensure they are placed at the right destinations. Carries out all lifting operations in accordance to safety rules and company regulations. Carries out general inspection of cranes prior to operating them. Includes checking condition of wire ropes, brake system. Bolts, pins and similar items and reports any potential defect or malfunction to Logistic Supervisor.
Assists maintenance and safety crews when carrying out works on cranes. Includes repositioning crane arm, lowering or lifting pulley, testing equipment, etc., as instructed by maintenance or safety crew. Performs other similar or related duties such as, carrying out Rigger's duties helping other areas, etc.
Works according to Standing Instructions to Helicopter Operations. Ensures helideck clear for landing and take offs. Checks all required fire/crash equipment is available and operational prior to ETA of aircraft. Ensures standby vessel available and standing by 30 minutes prior to ETA of aircraft.
Supervises helideck assistants and passengers / freight on and off aircraft. Converses with radio operator pertaining to operation requirement. Coordinates loading / offloading of aircraft with flight crews.
Responsible for the operation of the whole helicopter fuel system according to field operating procedures. Takes fuel samples and test for contamination daily and prior to refueling of aircraft. Takes fuel system checks and keep records. Keeps record of fuel quantity in fuel bulk tanks and advises when refilling of tanks required. Maintains proper records of fuel dispatched and received.
ROLE Operates the cranes of the Field platforms. Reports malfunctions or defects. Observes all safety rules and regulations. Assists maintenance, production, and construction and safety crews as required. Responsible for safety of personnel and equipment on helideck during helicopter operations. Observes all safety rules and regulations concerning landings, take offs, shutdowns and refueling of aircrafts. Coordinates with radio operator and flight crews. TRAININGS ATTENDED:

Crane operation on, Jack-up, Semisub and production platforms in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance to company policies and procedures. Regularly perform preventive maintenance on crane and components. Offshore lifting specially advertised in location or discipline using “upload materials details”

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working for Qatar Gas (offshore) through IPEDEX as a Crane Operator since 22th January 2008. Crane operation during normal operation and shutdown jobs for all three processing flat forms and three well heads for QG1 as required. Also working as a Crane Operator for QG2 well heads during construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning for all three well heads which includes x-mas tree re-building, wire line operations, lifting personnel from by personnel basket and lifting other materials to platform.
Partake in pre job meeting prior to non-routine deck operation. Operate crane as required for transferring personnel and materials and tools and from supply boats.
Assist the plant supervisor, production plant crew, deck crew and third party service personnel in picking up and moving equipment with the replacement and installation during shutdown plant area.
Inspect all fitting equipment prior to use e.g., sling, straps, shackles; wire ropes, tag lines, and personal basket, etc.
Assist to maintain accurate records of all equipment loaded onto and of the production deck, cellar deck, storage facilities deck and of extension oil well. Act as Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) supervising the transit of the passengers, baggage, freight, and refueling operations.
JOB DESCRIPTION: (DRILLING OIL RIG.)
Position Summary
The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation and general daily maintenance of the deck cranes.
Direct Reports
Directly reports to the Barge Master and Assistant Barge Master Can be directed by the Senior Toolpusher, Night Toolpusher Essential Job Functions
SAFETY
Acts as the leader of the deck crew emergency team in the event of a fire or other emergency; participates in drills and exercises.
Participates in the Safety Training Observation Program (S.T.O.P.) and the weekly and pre – tour safety meetings.
Develops and implements Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and prepares risk assessments as required.
Assists the deck crew emergency participates in drills and exercises. Completes daily crane inspection and records and reports deficiencies. CRANE OPERATIONS
Operate, inspect and maintain the cranes aboard rig and submits the weekly inspection report on cranes.
Transfer the drilling tubular from/to the pipe rack to/from the drill floor as required.
Provide cleaning, painting and maintenance services to assure the upkeep of the rig Maintain inventory of all necessary items for the crane operation including slings, chains, ropes, loading hoses, etc. and reports the Toolpusher of status of inventory. Perform proper maintenance of hoisting slings.
Maintain paint locker inventory control.
Coordinate material movement to and from rig with Storekeeper and assists in making manifest on materials leaving the rig.
Assist Supervisors for special works requiring helpers’, watcher’s hands. Provide rig support for helicopter flights.
Perform other duties as directed by the Toolpusher. Operates the cranes safely, ensuring safe working practices and correct procedures; performs pre – start and pre – operation procedures and uses proper methods and devices for making lifts and slinging loads.
Cleans and maintains the crane in accordance with the crane manual and preventive maintenance system; changes oil, lubricate, and changes out cables and lines; maintains log of maintenance and repairs under supervision of the Chief Mechanic. Observes load hookups and determines safety of the load. Monitors safety on deck during loading and unloading, pipe handling, and other work with the cranes.
Inspects and uses personnel lifting devices.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of the crane, notifies supervisor of any defects or malfunctions, and creates and maintains inspection records; records on the Preventive Maintenance System.
Assists in the maintaining of current inventories of all slings and crane lifting equipment.

Ensure that the weight of load onto crane boom is to be known prior to commencing of lifting and the crane boom is properly controlled. Secure Crane Load

DECK MAINTENANCE
Oversees the cleaning and maintenance of all deck areas, stores, cleans, maintains, and protects tools and equipment.
Organizes equipment and materials on deck to provide adequate and safe working area.
When not operating the crane assists with the cleaning and maintenance of all deck areas; stores, cleans, maintains and protects tool and equipment. Keeps the rig floor supplied with all required equipment. Reports all hazardous, damaged or worn items.
GENERAL MANAGEMENT
Keeps supervisor informed of progress on assigned tasks and current conditions, prepares hand – over notes for supervisor and relied staff. Trains roustabouts in hand signals, slinging, material handling, rigging, and safety; verifies that safe and correct work practices are followed. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Acts as helicopter loading officer when required, and monitors the safe conduct of helideck crew.
Performs all duties in accordance with the Permit to Work System. Acts as Fire team assistant during rig based emergencies or drills. Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management. NATURE AND SCOPE

Supervises and assigns the works to Roustabout crew and performs all duties without personal injury to self or others.
