A transportation company for the construction industry that consists of a fleet of over 200 trucks.

Fleet Manger- Columbia SC

Responsible for the day to day operation of the Columbia division fleet of trucks. This includes safety, training, hiring, terminating of all drivers. Have two dispatchers and 70 drivers reporting directly.

Route all drivers to ensure customer demands are met and profit margins are achieved.

Meet with customers on a weekly basis to gain forecast needs for efficient routing of freight.

Since taking over this role, profit margins have increased by 6.6%.

A $160M distribution center of premium quality pet food.

Distribution Center Manager – Columbia, SC

Direct all aspects of operations for a 120k square foot distribution center supervising a staff of 43 with a $3.2M budget serving 42 major domestic and eight international customers.

Processed, managed and distributed 5.6M units consisting of 525 SKU’s to 50 distribution locations.

Instituted employee safety and training programs resulting in a company record of no lost time for 512 days.

Lowered distribution operating costs by $225K within first year of hire.

Reduced overtime in all departs from 15.2% to less than 2.1% of hours worked.

Promoted from Shipping Supervisor to Distribution Center Manager within eight months.

Transferred to Columbia within three months to set up new Distribution Center and managed the shutdown and assimilation of product of Saluda facility.

Retained by Del Monte to assist with the physical closure of the Columbia facility in December, 2013 and facilitated product transfer to Pennsylvania. Managed inventory levels that assured it was a seamless event and customer deliveries were unaffected.

all Starbucks Distribution Centers with a staff of five.

Assigned as member of Safety Committee and Continuous Improvement Team.

Responsible for training new associates, hiring, safety training and terminations for the Logistics Department.

SHAKESPEARE FISHING TACKLE, Columbia, SC 1984 – 2008

Major, well-known leader in quality and affordable fishing tackle.

Director of Distribution (2001 – 2008)

Directly responsible for the overall operations’ two distribution centers and their goal attainments budgets and safety standards. Manage a staff of 70 full-time employees, two Warehouse Managers, 30+ temporaries during peak times, and the Purchasing Department.

Led two separate facilities with combined space of 190K square feet, total annual sales of over $140M and an average inventory of $16M.

Negotiated all carrier rates and national agreements for small parcel, LTL and FTL shipments for North America.

Implemented new WMS System with RF Scanners that increased inventory accuracies and improved picking processes.

Participated in the acquisitions of three outlying facilities and successfully absorbed inventories into the Columbia facility as well as led the start-up of a second distribution center.

Played a key role in Columbia’s final closure when purchased by Jarden Corp. and moved all products to their newly constructed facility in Kansas City while still maintaining proper inventory levels during transition for current customers.

Reduced inventory by over $2.5M through improved planning and production and implementation of a Just-In-Time system.
