I have directed the infrastructures and network teams as part of my job responsibilities; during this time at Valencia, I lead the teams in upgrading a self-manage a dark fiber network ring expanding 145 Km across the Orlando area. Also the telecom team performed a complete uproot of our traditional PBX Nortel telephone systems and migrated over 5,000 phones to a new Microsoft Lync platform using L3 SIP trucking, this project was completed in a 14 month period from planning, architecture design to completion.

Responsible for leading the virtualization of the college two data centers implementing VMware and MS Hyper-V, the virtualization team has virtualized 95% of the physical serve footprint across the two data centers.

I also was the lead contact in the build of our two tier 4 data centers that serves all our 7 campuses. We performed synchronous replication between our two data centers for BC/DR purposes using 10GB point to point dark fiber connections.

The teams I lead and are responsible for are; Network, MS Exchange 2013, AIX/Linux, Windows/AD, Storage SAN/NAS and Telecom. Also I manage all our cloud computing efforts including MS Azure, Office 365, IDM’s process and implementation, etc.

I managed large scales Infrastructure and network projects; i.e. Network upgrade, MS Exchange 2013 upgrade\migration; upgrade of the college telephony system from legacy Nortel platform to MS LYNC\VoIP platform consisting over 5,000 extensions.

I was the Infrastructure project manager on all enterprise projects.

Network Manager

As the network manager at Sunnyridge Farm, the primary role is to manage a team of 5 Systems engineer on the day to day support of all Windows systems, SAN environment and VMware vSphere 4.1 Farm. The company operates 24/7 most of the year. Responsible for setting the technology roadmap for the company.

The environment consists of approximately 35 Windows 2008 R2 servers on the primary site, all running on VMware Vsphere 4.1, and running on IBM S22 series Blade Center and 2 Dell EquolLogic SAN’s, that are used for data replication between the primary site and remote site. The secondary site, host 4 Dell Servers running VSphere 4.1.

Responsible for architecting Sunnyridge’s remote site in Plant City, FL for BC/DR failover.

Software Systems Engineer Manager

Responsible, for the management of all Infrastructure teams (UNIX, SAN/NAs storage, e-mail, Windows and zOS mainframe teams), composing of over 25 staff members, including FTE and consultants. The Intel team was responsible for the daily operation of over 650 Windows servers including over 350 VMware Virtual guests. The UNIX team was responsible over 100 LPARS, running AIX on IBM p570, p690 and p595 series frames, using VIO technology. The e-mail team managed an MS Exchange 2003 platform consisting of 12,000 plus mailboxes and using Zantaz for e-mail archiving and e-discovery. SAN/NAS team managed over 70TB of storage on multiple platforms, including, EMC DMX3, IBM 8000, IBM XIV, EMC Celera, EMC Centera, and used the IBM SVC (San Volume Controller) to manage all data platforms, providing thin provisioning to all customers across the enterprise and performing Global mirroring replication to our Hot Site at the Northwest Regional Data Center in Tallahassee. Our zOS team managed various applications on an IBM z890 mainframe including other county department’s critical applications.

As a senior Systems Engineer/Administrator and Manager of the IT Infrastructure department, responsible for all Windows/Intel projects, administration our Global Windows 2000 Domain, support and management of 8 Systems Engineer across the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. Some key responsibilities are as follow:

Windows 2000 Senior Systems Engineer administrator, consisting of over 150 Dell servers, across 12 sites worldwide.

Architect and implemented ATMI’s global Citrix Metaframe farm, consisting of over 25 Metaframe XP servers, running Oracle 11i applications, Lotus Notes, and various legacy applications to our customers across the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
