Since the company was founded in 2010 I engineered, implemented, and oversaw all IT operations, initially as an independent contractor (see “Rock Creek Technologies” below), then becoming full-time IT Director in 2012. My responsibilities and accomplishments included:
•Selecting and purchasing all technology-related hardware and software with a budget that has largely been entrusted to my discretion.
•Engineering and deploying a centrally managed, multi-campus wired and wireless network to securely interconnect all the company's facilities spread throughout Sevier County, TN and Los Angeles, CA including firewall design, hardware installation and configuration, network cabling, and VPN tunneling.
•Designing, deploying, and maintaining Point of Sale systems capable of handling the extreme volume of the most visited distillery in the United States.
•Making all telecommunications decisions.
•Selecting, deploying, and managing telephone systems.
•Designing, building, and integrating a redundant and secure virtualized server environment based on VMware ESXi and vSphere.
•Engineering, configuring, deploying, and administering dozens of Windows and Linux servers to host Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IIS, FTP, File and Print Services, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft SQL Server, and Wi-Fi management.
•Conducting a zero-downtime migration to Google Apps for Business, providing staff training, and managing 90+ accounts.
•Purchasing, configuring, and maintaining all computers and mobile devices for a nationally distributed staff of nearly 300 employees.
•Designing and installing a fully automated, fee-based parking system with integrated pay stations and gate vending, and the option to add differential counting in the future.
•Troubleshooting and repairing the high-speed bottling and labeling machines.
•Working closely with third-party engineers to design, install, and maintain an industrial reverse osmosis water purification system.
