EXPERIENCE

Kendall Construction, Owner, 2009-Current. Buying and selling short sale and foreclosure single family residences including permitting to increasing square footage to painting, electrical, roofing, and adding landscaping. Performing all aspects of residential construction from plumbing, sheetrock, roofing, stucco, to landscaping. I have bought and sold approximately 36 single family residences in Northern CA, using my experience as a union carpenter (Local 1849, Pasco, WA) and engineer with multiple engineering degrees to make available single family residences ranging from $200,000 to $1,000,000.

Willdan Engineering, Sacramento, CA. Project Engineer – 2005-2009. Perform project and construction management for City and County agencies including Cities of Reno, Manteca, Sacramento and Elk Grove. Project design duties include: preparation of improvement plans, specifications and technical documents, and coordination with public agencies and contractors. Plan review/check duties include: review for compliance with agency standards, conformance with general engineering practices, constructability review, compliance with conditions of approval, compliance with engineering studies, specific plans and other related documents.

Highway 120 Development, Manteca, CA

I oversaw progress on numerous commercial and residential development projects along Highway 120, performing construction oversight of utility relocations, CalTrans and PUC easements, and installation of buried utilities, storm drain and sewer piping, concrete and rebar placement and asphalt compaction. I reviewed progress reports, verified work completed and submitted partial payment requests to the Manteca accounting department while working as a liaison between contractor(s), CalTrans, PUCs, and City of Manteca personnel.

Laguna Ridge, Elk Grove, CA

A 1900+ Acre development of 5900 single family residences and 1800 multi family units. I performed plan check review of all submitted phases on the project while working with developers and City of Elk Grove engineers obtaining final acceptance. I performed construction inspection of buried utilities, storm drain and sewer piping, concrete and rebar placement and asphalt compaction. I reviewed progress reports, verified work completed and submitted partial payment requests to Elk Grove accounting department while working as a liaison between contractor(s) and City of Elk Grove personnel.

City of Reno, NV

I performed numerous plan check reviews of subdivision developments, then performed both construction management and construction inspection of the reviewed projects. I reviewed progress reports submitting partial payment requests, provided responses to RFIs, coordinated materials testing and data entry of test results, working as a liaison between contractor(s) and City of Reno personnel.

KOO Construction, Sacramento, CA. Project Engineer – 2004-2005. Perform project management for Corps of Engineer construction projects. Duties include project/construction management, permitting, scheduling, site layout, submittal review and liaison with State and Federal agencies. Safety duties include generation and revision of safety programs, site inspections and air collection of ACM and LBP abatement work.

Corps of Engineers, Vallejo, CA

Install 4 self-regulating tidal gates along Highway 37. As CQM (Certified Quality Management, USACE), Project Managers must be approved by the Corps. The project entailed installing 4 self-regulating tidal gates on 4 newly installed reinforced box culverts. A temporary dam was installed to allow access to the reinforced concrete box culverts, and then 4 self-regulating gates were installed and calibrated. The project was completed on time, under budget and the Corps of Engineers awarded KOO Construction with a National Award of Excellence.

Hanson Pipe, Sacramento, CA. Project Engineer – 2001-2003. Provided construction and production oversight, submittal review and generation, field installation, QC inspection, CADD, and budget projection for reinforced concrete pipe and reinforced concrete box culvert manufacturer.

Turner Construction Co., San Jose, CA. Superintendent – 2000-2001. Oversee construction of multiple high tech fast track construction projects including clean rooms and ultra pure water systems. Supervised on-site environmental concerns including asbestos, soil and lead abatement. Responsible for project coordination, owner liaison, permitting and meeting scheduled milestones.

Reliance Industries Intl., Inc., Sacramento, CA. Resident Engineer – 1995-2000. Supervise Federal Aviation Administration construction projects including the following duties: project management/supervision, permitting of waste streams, review and generation of construction specifications, scheduling, estimating, site layout, submittal review, inspection of AST/UST, ACM and LBP projects, review of project proposals, liaison with State and Federal agencies and contractor supervision/liaison. Safety duties include generation and revision of safety programs, site inspections, database management, regulatory compliance and industrial hygiene monitoring.

Federal Aviation Administration, All of CA

Congress awarded FAA approx. $800 million to make repairs to FAA facilities in CA, AZ and NV. I was assigned to travel to FAA sites, meet with FAA personal and generate a list items needing repairs and or replacement. I then selected pre-approved contractors to make repairs, remove and or replace listed items. Many facilities are in remote locations and require security to access. Many facilities involved the removal of ACM and lead based paints, so ACM and LBP certifications were required. Numerous projects entailed, painting, installing UG utilities, roadwork including resurfacing, improving drainage and adding additional base course, upgrading electronics, removal of buried fuel tanks, to installation of self supporting towers.
