RE: Maintenance Supervisor

To Whom It May Concern,

Please accept this application for the Maintenance Supervisor I offer 25+ years’ management experience in the construction and mining industry.

I currently work for Stantec Consulting and have worked there as a Superintendent/Construction Coordinator/Construction Manager since 2013. I have simultaneously managed up to 200 people at a time, including 40 supervisors, and excel at managing large-scale operations in a variety of construction sites. I have also been responsible for major projects worth up to $1B. I am also responsible for monitoring all project costs and taking corrective action if it appears that costs will escalate beyond budget projections. I also monitor and enforce safety procedures for up to 300 people to ensure the continued safety of all workers on a site and have extensive experience evaluating, hiring, and onboarding qualified crew members.

My extensive mining experience, I believe, would be a considerable asset to your company. I offer expertise in all phases of mine development. Currently, I work at Mosaic Colonsay and am responsible for organizing mine projects (monitoring schedules, timelines, costs/budgets, code compliance and quality control). I also mentor others, particularly as it relates to safety and improving workplace efficiency. I excel at coordinating resources and utilizing all of the tools at my disposal to meet all project objectives in a safe and cost efficient manner without compromising project quality.

Safety is always my primary objective. I am driven to identify and correct any and all potential safety issues to ensure the safety of supervisors, mechanical inspectors, contractors, tradespeople, and others. I specialize in developing highly effective risk mitigation strategies for all project phases from the delivery of on-site materials to project completion.

I look forward to expanding my management skills, safety knowledge, and drive for quality service into a valuable role within your organization. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss the position of Maintenance Supervisor further.

Sincerely,

David Magnusson
