Ethylene from Corn Stover Process Design

Using material and energy balances, economic analysis, standard research methods and engineering design principles, designed a process to produce ethylene from a corn stover feedstock.

Binary Distillation

Using refractometer, monitored and characterized the performance of a 26 tray distillation column for various, feeds, distillate flow rates, bottoms flow rates and reflux ratio.

Bioreactor Characterization

Used material balances and vapor-liquid equilibrium to analyze fermentation process and understand how aeration and agitation affect the rate of oxygen transfer and then modeled the effects.
