Actual execution of the relevant purchases which is inclusive of making purchase orders and ensuring on time delivery.
Responsible for sourcing, cost negotiations, credit term and buying of raw materials, consumable items, spare parts etc.
Issue purchase orders to suppliers and follow up with suppliers to ensure prompt delivery of goods.
Plan, source and develop new potential suppliers/vendors for economical procurement.
Maintain a full record and coordinate with various suppliers and compare costs for pruchasing requisition within the organization.
Submission of cost and prices reports to management.
Responsible for material planning and inventory control.

Provide support and advice to management and staff on procurement matters.

Review of purchasing arrangements with suppliers including price, delivery, performance and discounts to achieve reduced supply chain costs to council.
Develop, compile, reconcile, and/or update information in vendor and stock databases to provide effective processing, information management and reporting.
Co-ordinate the overall operation of Council’s purchasing function to ensure goods, works and services are provided at the most competitive rates.
Obtain quotations for the purchase of goods, works and services to limits authorised by the local Government Act 1993 and Council resolutions.
