I have been employed as a contract Sr. Field Superintendent with StoneGate Production Co. I was responsible for managing all phases of drilling rig operations on horizontal wells. Well depths 9500-15000 feet MD, Average Mud Weight 10-11 p.pg. I managed multiple rigs and supervisors simultaneously. Stonegate Production continually set field records for safety and rig performance. As the Operations Manager I managed the CAPX & OPEX budgets for the company. I selected all the vendors to service the field operations. In this capacity I managed the drilling of numerous horizontal wells in the Permian Wolfcamp & Eagleford, basins.
2011 – 2012 Exxon Exploration Product ion Chad Inc. / Sr. Field Superintendent – Completion Operations
I was a contract rotating Sr. Field Superintendent for Production Rig Operations. Chad, Africa. Responsibilities include safety of all personnel associated with the rig operations, all daily rig functions required to accomplish completion procedures on the designated wells. These operations require reviews of operational effectiveness, safety process management, personnel assessments, reviews and approvals of engineering programs for upcoming wells, and rig scheduling. The Superintendent is also responsible for the close supervision of all contractor operations performed with local labor workforce and the daily management of AFE budget expenditures for operational compliance and effectiveness.
2009 – 2011 Newport Energy Corporation. / Contract Drilling Manager – Clearwater FL
I was employed on a contract basis for a small independent operator for the drilling and production operations on two horizontal wells in south Florida. Areas of responsibility included, Drilling rig site supervision and completion operations, overseeing all budget expenditures for operational effectiveness. Financial reviews to insure budgetary compliance. Field operations including, pumping, product sales and personnel scheduling. Third party, contract negotiations including safety and performance reviews. At the completion of this contract the operator had a significantly improved production from the wells and had discovered an additional 20 million barrels of oil.
2006 – 2009 Drilling Consultant for Resource Development Systems Inc.
I have in the recent past worked for various operators on land rigs in Florida, Texas, New Mexico & Oklahoma. Specializing in underbalanced and mud cap drilling of horizontal gas & oil wells in the Sunniland Trend, Barnett Shale, Granite Wash, Red Fork, Cherokee, Atoka, Grayburg, San Andres, Strawn – Sprayberry, Eagleford, and Yegua formations located in gas & oil fields in Ft Myers FL, Hobbs NM, Wharton TX, Dallas TX, Elk City OK, Canadian TX, Midland TX, Cotulla TX, Archer City TX, and Mentone TX. Average well depth was 12-16 thousand feet. Average BHT was up to 350+ degrees. Average deviation was 45-90 degrees. Average mud weight was 10 + 17 PPG. These wells had numerous challenges including; Abnormal formation pressures, Lost circulation, Ballooning formations, Heaving shale sections and Well control issues related to under-balance drilling techniques.
1996-2006 / Sr. Drilling Superintendent – Gulf of Mexico
Well-site supervision as the company representative for drilling operations of vertical, directional, & horizontal gas wells with bottom hole temperatures up to 350+ degrees, Mud weights of 10-17 PPG. During my six years in the GOM I have supervised Jack-up operations on Ensco 83, 89 & 81 all La Tourneau class 82 SD C rigs. Rated water depth 250’ Rated drill depth 20,000 ft, these rigs were equipped with Varco TDS-4H Top drives, National 2000HP Draw-works, and two (2) National P-160 triplex pumps. Areas of experience are Eugene Island, Grand Isle, Green Canyon, South Timblier, West Cameron, South Marsh Island, Mississippi Canyon, West Delta, South Pass, High Island and Vermillion blocks. I have also managed multiple rig operations for platforms, barge, and lift boats.
1990-1996 / Drilling Superintendent - Rocky Mountain Division, Exxon Company. USA
Well-site supervision as the company representative for drilling operations of vertical, directional, & horizontal gas wells. Managed all rig operations as the company representative on site. Insured environmental aspects of our field operations conformed to all government regulations. Average well depth on land operations was 10,000 to 25,000 feet angle 40-90 degrees. I have successfully managed operations in the following basins; Uintah, Permian, Anadarko, Williston, San Andres, Barnett Shale, San Juan, and numerous other gas fields in areas west of the Mississippi River.
During my tenure with Exxon in the Rocky Mountain Division I managed drilling operations in Labarge WY, on Madison formation tests. Anschutz Ranch, “Fogerty Creek” area for Nugget Sandstone and Madison formation tests. I have supervised operations in Powder Creek, Williston and Permian Basins. Many of these basins and wells were sour gas “H2S” operations.
I have 10 years experience supervising air-drilling operations in Arkansas, Nevada and Wyoming. Additionally I have managed drilling operations in very environmentally sensitive areas including Moran Junction, the entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Los Padres National Forest, (Condor breeding grounds) Santa Barbara County, California.
