Since March 2006 - Contract works (Incorporated) in Project Management & Mechanical Engineering:

-(Since Oct’14) Power Plants & Utilities with ABB Canada. Working as a Project Manager for power plants. Recently completed construction, commissioning and handover of a US$250m World Bank (IFC) financed Hydroelectric Power Plant in Peru (2x84 MW with 3 Dams, 1.3 km water tunnel and 19 km of transmission line) including all related equipment, switchgear, substation, utilities and services.

-Food Processing Plant in Toronto, Canada, for Campbell Soup Company. In 3 months completed design for a Cogen Plant (4.5 MW Gas Turbine Generator with HRSG), vessels, piping, controls, utilities, services and infrastructure. Helped in Project Control and Risk Management.

-Potash Mining Project in Saskatchewan, Canada, with AMEC Americas Ltd (14 months). Designed and prepared technical specifications & procurement packages for mechanical equipment (Gas Turbine Generators 7.5 MW & 15 MW with their Heat Recovery Steam Generators HRSG, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Boiler Water Softener and Condensate Polisher packages). Provided technical assistance and mentored engineers; coordinated with Construction, Commissioning and Environmental groups.

-Iron Ore Mines in Labrador, Canada, for Rio-Tinto Iron Ore Company (2 years). As a project manager prepared budgets, planned resources, schedules, wrote construction & commissioning procedures; managed projects, guided and mentored project teams for iron ore mining and process plants renovation; conducted risk and change management; supervised construction & commissioning for renovation and upgrading of Crushers, Concentrators, Pellet Plants and overhauled Loading Pockets; did geotechnical remediation and water control of mine shafts, underground passages (adits) and upgraded railway tracks for iron ore transportation from mine site to the processing plants and seaport export terminals.

-Northwest Territories Power Corporation, NWT, Canada (2 years). As the Manager, Asset Management, Mechanical Engineering & Operations Support managed engineers and technicians; engineered renovation and maintenance of 36 isolated power plants, scattered all over the Territories, to ensure reliable heat (district heating) and electric power generation for the communities.

-Qatalum, Messaeed, Qatar, Aluminum Smelter Project (6 months). As a Commissioning Lead prepared procedures, schedules and budgets; commissioned and started-up two trains of Aluminum Smelter Reduction Units, related Service Buildings and Electrical Substations, with their HVAC, Gantry Cranes, Utilities, Fire Protection Systems, Electrical Fixtures and infrastructure.

-Spectra Energy, Vancouver, BC, Canada, LNG & LPG projects (6 months). As a Project Manager developed and executed multiple projects for renovation, upgrading and process improvement of gas processing plants; modified gas transmission manifolds and gate stations in remote northern BC.

-Qatar Petroleum, Doha, Qatar, Common Seawater Cooling Systems Project (2 years). As Project/Commissioning Manager for a 2-phase Pipeline mega-project of large diameter GRP pipeline (2.8m dia) with associated infra-structure and flow controls to serve Refineries, LNG, LPG, GTL, Cogen and Process Plants in Northern Qatar. Coordinated with FEED consultants and EPIC contractors and carried out project management, commissioning, seamless start-up, documentation & training the locals. Two phases:

-Phase-1 (US$385m): As Commissioning Manager (Apr-May 2006) and then also as Project Manager (June-Nov 2006), executed the project for a Pump House, 19Km of Pipelines with manifolds and controls; coordinated with the Construction Group and prepared and carried out procedures for commissioning and start-up. Completed the project within budget and schedule.

-Phase-2 (US$1b): As the Commissioning Manager (Sept 2006 – Oct 2008) supervised construction, expedited works, prepared commissioning procedures and commissioned 2 Pump Houses, 55Km of Pipelines, and 2 Control Buildings, with their associated infra-structure.

-Ontario Power Generation, Pickering Nuclear Power Station Return to Service projects (4 years). On-site as SNC-Lavalin Field Engineering Team Leader, supervised engineers, technicians and sub-contractors, participated in project meetings, conducted war room, expedited construction and commissioning, reviewed designs, performed site tests, prepared and verified Field Change Notices for several modernization projects on site, in compliance with the pressure boundary, environmental, seismic, CNSC, CSA and TSSA requirements. Also carried out business development for SNC-Lavalin.

-Hydro One Networks, Inc., Toronto (1 year). Supervised the joint venture project teams, carried out engineering design, procurement, construction and commissioning for the following 3 major projects:

oRevenue Metering Project for 46 Power Generating Stations (6 thermal and 40 hydro-electric);

oRehabilitation of Sir Adam Beck Hydroelectric Generating Stations at Niagara Falls, Ontario; and

oRenovations of 55 Transformer Stations all over Ontario for Environmental Compliance.

-Ontario Hydro, Nanticoke Thermal Power Generating Station (1 year in the largest coal-fired power plant in North America). Construction Engineer & Lead of SNC-Lavalin team supervised sub-contractors and executed modernization projects for partial conversion to natural gas with construction and commissioning of a 7 km of Pipeline, 9 Pressure Regulating/Gate Stations, Low NOx Burners with Opacity Monitors, potable water & compressed air systems upgrading, and complete removal and remediation of asbestos as per the CSA and Ontario Building Codes & OHSA Regulations.

Bechtel Corporation, Los Angeles Regional Office, CA (Dec 1992–Dec 1994). Senior Process Engineer

-Engineered & designed piping for process plants, wrote commissioning procedures, and prepared process flow diagrams for clean air/reformulated gasoline & utilities upgrading projects at five refineries in California.

-Engineered and executed plants integration and modernization projects for two major refineries.
