Experience
Marathon Oil Corporation – Drilling Engineer I March 2014 – November 2015
• Drilling Engineer for World Wide Drilling and Completions o Evaluate possible new asset acquisitions to determine economical feasibility from a drilling standpoint. o Worked with multiple Asset Drilling Engineers to identify performance limiters, reduce invisible lost time
(connection/trip/casing times), prevent NPT and significantly improve drilling performance in the Bakken, Oklahoma, Eagle Ford, Michigan and Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. o Create torque and drag models in Landmark suite to aide with well planning, BHA selection, drilling and casing design.
o Assist with well pre-planning, real-time drilling analysis, post-well reports with various analytical platforms
(Spotfire and SAS) and implementation of best practices/lessons learned. o Train field personnel in vibration mitigation, auto-driller usage and best practices to safely improve drilling performance.
National Oilwell Varco - Drilling Optimization Engineer June 2013 – March 2014
• Drilling Optimization Engineer – Permian Basin
o Responsible for real time mitigation of drilling vibrations and drilling limiters using Mechanical Specific Energy
(MSE) to significantly improve drilling performance and extend BHA life. o Make real time recommendations to clients about drilling parameters to mitigate and correct drilling inefficiencies.
o Reduce the number of drilling days and effectively provide drilling consistency. o Assist in training of rig personnel in the usage of MSE, vibration mitigation and adoption of new drilling practices.
o Develop pre-well and post-well analysis to identify possible performance limiters for current and future well drilling performance optimization.
Marathon Oil Corporation - Drilling Engineering Internship Summer 2012
• Drilling Engineer for Mid-Continent Asset Team in Woodford Basin o Historical analysis of wells using Mechanical Specific Energy method in order to improve drilling on future wells.
o Significantly improved real-time drilling rates in vertical section of horizontal wells by using in-field energy analysis.
o Field rotations in two rigs in the Woodford Basin (Oklahoma) and Eagle Ford. 2
Marathon Oil Corporation - Production Engineering Internship (Gulf of Mexico) Summer 2011
• Offshore assignment on a 12 week, 7/7 schedule (Lobster Platform - Block 873) o Evaluation, meetings with service providers, bidding, planning and execution of through-tubing gravel pack in two offshore wells worth (total work over expenditure: US $500,000, return of investment time: one month). o Analysis of the production Process Flow Diagram (PFD) of the facility. o Research in various sand control methods.
o Well testing, shakeouts and eco-meters tests as part of routine operations. o Review/discussion subsea architecture and well configuration(s) at the Gulf of Mexico. Participant in the “Youth at Risk” Project, Lincoln Center, College Station, TX 2010
• Assisted and provide emotional support to underprivileged "at risk" children. Volunteer work at Katy Christian Ministry, Katy, TX 2006-2008
• Assisted management in the on boarding process of new volunteers.
• Successfully interacted and helped individuals who were in need at the time. Skills/Training
