Dear Recruiting Department:
Please find enclosed my resume in application for any available Geophysicist or Geotechnical Engineering position.
I am experienced Geophysicist with a Master’s Degree in Geological Engineering. As you can see in my resume, last years I have worked in several positions in a progressive manner. I have performed as a client's representative for project management or as a technician in order to assist the site studies for pipelines, subsea Oil&Gas production systems and Platform’s Jacket concerning the processing or interpretation of 3D seismic data in ongoing surveys for 7 years. Also I have worked in onshore surveys related to seismic refraction, EM, ReMi and electrical resistivity with the scope to characterize the soil for engineering design purposes since I graduated. Additionally, all subjects developed during the Master have enriched my knowledge in slope stability, tunneling, deep foundations, embankments and geotechnical soil/rock lab testing. However, my duties often went beyond technical activities, so I have accomplished tasks as planner and budget controller the last years in my previous department. Furthermore, I have successfully managed some tendering process for many geophysical, geotechnical and hydrographic studies. This eclectic experience has given me the opportunity to learn varied topics from many people and to pick up quickly new skills, which helped me to confidently face challenges and properly execute interesting projects so far in my career. I am a professional who works hard and can handle overtime hours when is necessary to achieve the company’s goals or schedule. I am willing to relocate and travel often if is required by the position. On the other hand, although I am still young and eager to learn new things, I am old enough to offer my experience, dedication and commitment. I am keen to work for a challenging company. And based on my background, I believe I could fit easily in any midlevel position, although I am willing to take a Junior position for a testing period of time. Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future
Yours sincerely,
Mario Alfonzo
