Working with a financial services organization I was responsible for managing a team to enhance reporting capabilities to address US GAAP accounting standards. Activities included: on demand balance sheet and income statement generation solution. Integration of the cost accounting systems. Better control over financial data

Managed the selection of SAP as a solution for a global Insurance and Reinsurance corporation. The opportunity was to find a suitable financial application with multiple currency features that would enable the organization to standardize on a common platform

Responsible for implementing a shared services design and model for a large Global Reinsurance provider. The opportunity led to a 35% reduction in run rate expenses. The opportunity realized the savings in 12 months. This savings enabled the insurer to fund the consolidation of their accounting systems across three global geographies

Deliver a large complex application rationalization, data migration and solution strategies for the same insurance organization. The goal was to improve the overall ability of the organization to gain competitive advantage on a global scale

Responsible for the design and execution of a global project management office for a major investment bank

As an independent consultant Mr. Shea has worked with a major insurance organization and several hedge funds and investment banks.
