System Administrator (Contractor)

Serve as a System Administrator for a six-member IT team in configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining Linux VMware 5.5 infrastructure for a mid-sized Web and Remote Servers services company. Provide ongoing management, performance-tuning and Tier3 support for approximately 500 Virtual Linux Servers running CentOS 6.7, Red Hat Linux 6.5 Enterprise, and about 100 Physical servers such as Dell Power Edge, and HP ProLiant Servers. Other duties, performed:

Managed and Supporting VMware Virtual Environment: Provides the day to day management and support for the VMware Enterprise Network that consisted of a Vcenter 5.5 Server Appliance, a Datacenter and several Clusters. Managing the log files.

Monitor Performance and utilization of all the Virtual Machines, using Solarwinds

Virtualization Manager Tools Version 6.2. Managed spaces on the Datastores by deleting old files. Updating Virtual Server, Templates with the latest patches and updates.

Making Snapshots of all the before and after updating Virtual Servers. Backing Up the Virtual Environment, using Veeam Backup V8 Software. Created new Linux Virtual Servers. Managed updates by using VSphere Update Manager Tools.
