Assistant Vice President – My career at Merrill Lynch spanned almost 15 years. This is where I attained the majority of my expertise, soft skills, leadership skills, and IT service skills. I started at their technology service center doing on call support and built a career through being an escalation point for hardware problems. Then I used my expertise in problem flow analysis to write regular service level agreement reports. I took advantage of automating all the more mundane and inefficient parts of my position and then converted the paper based reports to a web based format by educating myself in web design. Using my new skills in HTML, CSS, Flash, Photoshop, and JavaScript, I began to make web pages for other departments and focused my career on web design and then eventually to my position as a Quality Assurance Lead and Back up Release Manager until the company had a reduction in force.
