WORK EXPERIENCE

●Internship posting in Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, from July 2011 –August 2012

●Worked with Department of anaesthesia in Amritha institute of medical sciences from August 2012 –February 2013

●Currently working with the department of anaesthesia in Al jahra hospital, ministry of health, Kuwait since 20th February 2013 to 19th may as locum appointment and 20 th may to till date as permanent contract

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

Ventilators: initial setup of a conventional ventilators and non-invasive (including calibration and trouble shooting) of adult, pediatric and neonatal type.

Initiation and weaning of mechanical ventilation.

Endotracheal intubation and assisting Tracheostomy.

Ventilator and other ICU equipment maintenance.

To maintain respiratory monitoring sheet for all patients on mechanical ventilation changes in mechanical ventilation to be done after consultation.

Oxygen Therapy devices (both fixed and variable performing devices)

Airway maintenance (placement of artificial airways) and care of ICD tube, tracheostomy tubes and special airways.

Bronchial hygiene therapy including aerosolized medication humidified medical gas therapy, steam inhalation, postural drainage, percussion, chest vibrations, deep breathing exercises, airway suctioning and artificial cough maneuvers.

Arterial Blood Gases (sampling and interpretation).

Pulmonary function tests (testing and interpretation of results).

Bronchodilator therapy (nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, ultrasonic nebulizers) to provide nebulization and inhaler therapy for ventilated patients.

Principles and use of pulseoxymeter, capnometer, oxygen analyzer, defibrillator.

Reading chest radiographs and electrocardiograms.

Basic and advanced cardio pulmonary resuscitation and to assist the duty doctor during CPR of patients in the ICU or elsewhere in the hospital on activation of code blue.

Non-invasive ventilation

Pulmonary rehabilitation

Educate patients and their families about their conditions and teach appropriate disease management techniques, such as breathing exercises and the use of medications and respiratory equipment.

Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to manage patient care.
