PROJECTS

Determination of the predictors that influence the price of cars (Summer 2015)

Cleaned and manipulated large set of data to check the hypothesis about whether the price of cars depends on horsepower and brands.

Predicted the prices of cars by keeping engine size, horsepower, cylinders and brands as predictors.

Used SAS software to perform the inferential statistics using the regression, glm and correlation steps.

Used PROC steps to summarize data and for data visualization like boxplots, histograms, scatter plot.

Self-taught Python’s package Pandas to analyze data using online course and materials.

Performed data analysis using both SAS and Python. Investigate a Catapult design to maximize the distance to first impact using a Fractional factorial experiment (Spring 2014)

Worked with a team of four to inspect the catapult design to maximize the distance of ball travel.

Used 25 with 32 observations and 25-1 Factorial Design with 16 observations.

Used randomization in the experiment to reduce any rubber band fatigue.

Determined the significant factors that affect the distance covered by the ball thrown by the Catapult.

Used JMP software and R programming extensively to analyze and interpret data.

Communicated with team members through email and other virtual media to discuss and plan about the progress and status of the project.

Determination of the effect of soil type, rainfall intensity and vegetation cover on volume of runoff generated

(Spring 2014)

Designed a simulation study to determine the volume of surface runoff (liters) by the effect of soil type, rainfall intensity and vegetation cover.

Used Excel and JMP to manipulate and summarize descriptive and inferential statistics.

Analyzed the same data in SQL programming also to check if the use of different statistical tools or software makes any difference in the final result of data analysis. SEMINARS
