Responsibilities
My positions consisted of providing safety and security to the employees of Target, as well as to the guest/ customers that are on the property. My daily tasks consisted of maintaining counts for all high dollar items and items with high theft reports (i.e. IPad, IPod, Laptops, Cosmetics, etc.) as well as monitoring a surveillance system to watch over individuals that may be suspected of theft in the store. 90% of my shifts involved me having to be on my feet and patrolling the store and parking lot. As an Assets Protection Specialist, you also are in charge of everyday functions that run in and out of the store that have to do with any kind of merchandise belonging to Target. You have to be accountable for the counts that arrive on shipments/Trucks and know exactly where and what comes in and out of the store pertaining to sales and theft. This position also required you to be proficient in typing up reports that pertained to theft and gather evidence for court proceedings that would lead to the convictions of the individuals in question. This position requires you to be flexible and be able to manager your own work ability due to the few members involved in Assets Protection. (Self-driven and self-motivating position).
I have also had experience in assisting with many apprehensions with personal that have been caught in the store trying to take unpaid for merchandise.
Accomplishments
I have been ranked #3 in the district for the amounts of PMRs that have been filed through our system referred to as TCMs. I have helped prevent thousands of dollars in theft and help file cases through TCM for theft that took place in the store to have the individuals prosecuted. Skills Used

I am in search of a Career opportunities with a competitive salary rate. I believe that my time in the military and other positions that i have held in the past is a great deal of experience to offer to your company. I am a hard worker and really good at picking up new things and learning them fast. My work has mostly been in military and security fields.I am currently employed with Target as an Asset Protection Specialist and in the Army National Guard as an 11C. Which is an infantry MOS (job), located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I have been working at Target since last year in September and really love what I do, and I have been in the military since July of 2010. I will be graduating from college in December 2015 with a degree in Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University.
I also have a great amount of experience dealing with security and the criminal justice side of the field. I am currently a part of the Army National Guard with my MOS being 11C. Along with having this kind of job in the military I have had the opportunity to work alongside the U.S. Border Patrol with a drug task force unit called Task Force Zia and deploy overseas and work alongside other countries in regards to security and border protection. This has only added to my experience within the security and protection field. I believe the experiences that I have obtained over the years through the military and other positions i have held would make me a great asset to your team/ company, and my degree, that I will be receiving in December, will only add to that experience and qualifications needed. I am a hard worker and love being put to the test to improve myself as well as help other reach their goals. I believe that I am a team player and work well with others in determining what is best for the company.
