Led a test team of 15-50 individuals in the planning, execution, and documentation of experimental flight tests on Boeing 787 and 777 commercial aircraft.
• Developed and conducted safe, thorough, and cost-effective flight testing to develop performance data, determine system design issues, demonstrate proper operation, and meet federal certification requirements.
• Played a key role in the 787-9 certification program, which resulted in the successful certification of a new model.
• Special Assignment: Flight Test Mobile Technology Team: created digital solutions for paperless flight testing. Flight Deck Crew Operations Engineer 2012-2014
Integrated flight crew controls and indications into the KC-46 flight deck. Performed hardware and software integration testing to mitigate risk on this 767-based military derivative.
• Responsible for the design and integration of the following systems' controls and indications: Propulsion, Fire Protection, Air Conditioning, Oxygen, Ice and Rain Protection, Aerial Refueling, Main Deck Alerting, and Doors.
• Collaborated with system engineers and technical pilots to ensure system designs and crew interfaces met safety, certification, usability, and program-level requirements.
• Interfaced with federal regulators to achieve approval for the aircraft’s designs, and used open communication to identify certification risks early in the process.
• Presented technical data to senior leaders and customers in a concise, logical, and persuasive manner at change board, joint working groups, and design reviews (PDR/CDR). Airplane Maintenance Engineer 2011-2012
Developed troubleshooting and unscheduled maintenance procedures to reduce aircraft downtime and improve dispatch reliability for the new-generation 787 aircraft. Deliverables: Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) and Airplane Maintenance Manual (AMM).
