As a full-time student at North American Trade Schools located in Baltimore, Maryland, participated in classroom and lab work in Diesel Technology, learned a variety of concepts pertaining to building, maintenance and service of anything that runs with a diesel engine while diagnosing damages, handling repairs and performing routine maintenance of engine diagnostics. Knowledge of and the ability to perform the following:
• Operate machinery and mechanical equipment by
completing preventive maintenance requirements on
engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot machinery and mechanical equipment
malfunctions by identifying sources of problems, observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools and examining form and texture of parts.
• Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting parts and using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Fabricate repair parts by using machinery and mechanical and equipment.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
