Isolate and screen resistant bacterial colonies using PCR, QC screen DNA elements by enzyme digest, and analyze results using Bio-Rad Image Lab and Lasergene SeqBuilder software.

Experience with tissue handling and preparation of key events for DNA isolation using Qiagen DNA extraction kits.

Analyze and determine gene copy-number insertion across transgenic lines by qPCR, using Applied Biosystems 7300 Real-Time PCR software.

Update company product inventory management system database (PIMS) to adequately reflect workflow status and maintain accurate record keeping.

Contribute to filings necessary for field trial permit application approval.

Prepare slides of histochemically stained samples for viewing under light microscopy.

Report work results and status across relevant departments on a biweekly basis using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Access; communicate any impediments to work processes in order to improve workflow.

Organize lab notebook cosigning meetings on a revolving schedule.

Serve on the company safety committee and adhere to the safety requirements set forth by OSHA by performing routine laboratory safety inspections, follow up on accident and incident reports, and provide on-site safety training.
