The purpose of the project is to store terabytes of log information generated by the ecommerce website and extract meaningful information out of it. The solution is based on the open source BigData s/w Hadoop. The data will be stored in Hadoop file system and processed using Map/Reduce jobs, which intern includes getting the raw html data from the websites, Process the html to obtain product and pricing information, extract various reports out of the product pricing information and Export the information for further processing.

This project is mainly for the re-platforming of the current existing system which is running on WebHarvest a third party JAR and in MySQL DB to a new cloud solution technology called Hadoop which can able to process large date sets (i.e. Tera bytes and Peta bytes of data) in order to meet the client requirements with the increasing competition from his retailers.

Environment : Hadoop, Apache Pig, Hive, SQOOP, Java, Unix, PHP, MySQL.

Responsibilities

Moved all crawl data flat files generated from various retailers to HDFS for further processing.

Written the Apache PIG scripts to process the HDFS data.

Created Hive tables to store the processed results in a tabular format.

Developed the SQOOP scripts in order to make the interaction between Pig and MySQL Database.

To develop the Dashboard solution, designed the Controller, Service and DAO layers of Spring Framework.

ISA (Internet Sales Application)

Currently on ISA, when a customer pull up an existing Equipment order for making modifications, before display of the line items for modifications it checks whether the line item days(RDD – Current date) are greater than 14 days. If it is lesser than 14 days then it will not allow for any modifications for those specific lines. 14 days is currently hardcoded value in the logic.

Due to many new LOB’s are coming under the umbrella of US15 company code, to have one policy for all LOB’s are difficult. Hence business wanted modifications, to have more flexible logic for restriction of line items both during order creation and change. The scope of this change is only for ISA.

Background

This is a mobile application for GPS tracking, designed and developed for Android using Android version 2.0 as front-end, Spring and Hibernate with AXIS2 web-services technology and MYSQL as back-end tool with Tomcat server.

This application tracks the user’s mobile location by receiving the GPS location (longitude and latitude), which are send by the mobile device. Here is a server side data push technology used to push data to the web-client according to the location change of the user.

To manage the mobile users there is a web-based application designed and developed using Adobe flex. Using this page the end user can track the mobile users. It contains different types of settings like SENDING ALERTS, Online Tracking, Where Is Lookup, Mobile Settings, and GEO-Fencing. Here the Blackberry and Android user can registers their mobile for getting the services.
