Jensen" - Helmuth Nyborg, ed., "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" - Weston A. Price, "The Metalogicon" - John of Salisbury, "The First and Last Freedom" - Jiddu Krishnamurti, "The Trap" - James Goldsmith
Professional Experience:
Gypsee Rose Top-rated EBay/Amazon Seller: My mother has for a while been in the process of developing an internet business that I can contribute to and profit from. So far I have developed skills in eSelling - I worked with her in every aspect of the aspiring business aside from social media promotion. I also participated in the bookkeeping for her business at tax time for 2 years (a sign that I did retain some rudimentary accounting knowledge from previous coursework, in spite of having not exploited it to the extent I could have). I have learned to install and work with Wordpress, I have learned to work with basic HTML, and I have installed Wordpress in over a dozen niche sites for her. I have also pursued some information regarding affiliate marketing, which I will likely later implement. There is much more already available to me that I can delve into, but based on current knowledge, I can already develop a basic site for a small business. I can take advantage of the opportunity offered to me so far in this by going further, and pursuing classes and certifications that might expand my ability to contribute to her business, which based on the magnitude of my contributions will by that time have really become "our" business. I will be working with Python or Ruby as a stepping stone towards going beyond basic web work to fuller scale web development - from this I will be able to offer further assistance to my mother should she become successful with her initial business goals and desire to expand into the areas were web development skill might possibly be useful (such as with e-commerce, security, and user interface). I will likely also learn, in the process of helping my mother develop her planned websites, the necessary material for getting an SEO certification. All of this, if I can show something for it, might possibly be a path to later work in the tech industry.
Worked at Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay from 2014-2015: This was extremely useful in enforcing a promptness and positive work routine, enabling me to effectively apply myself to day to day rote work. I worked for 25 hours a week from September 2014 to August 2015. I worked at the Albany office, the phone number is 510-***-****, my manager was Marcela Hidalgo, whose number is 510-***-****.
Volunteer Experience:
Worked with the City of Berkeley’s Animal Care Services, walking dogs and managing cats, on and off from 2007-2010. I also did some work with a museum in El Sobrante, Playland Not at the Beach, in the summer of 2007, for about 20 hours. In the summer I assisted the Opportunity House thrift store in Vacaville, CA, with organization of sellable items, volunteering for them for 2 hour periods on and off for a couple of weeks, and a few more hours in 2014.
Computer Proficiencies: MS. Office, Html, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Internet proficiency.
I took an intensive basics of cooking course by Oliver Said, the writer of the cookbook for the restaurant Cesar, in Fall of 2013, and received a certificate of completion at the end. I went through all the basics, among them - knife skills, searing, stocks, frying, stewing, sauce making, roasting, grilling, breadmaking, working with starches, etc, etc. Nutrition was also stressed throughout the course. My only challenge now is to practice those skills like a musician would practice his scales - to truly refine the practice. An overview of this program is provided here: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/9/prweb11109480.htm
Also, I received in May 2014 a CPR and First Aid Certificate.
